-DESIGN FOR A KNIT FABRIC.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,760, dated February 14, 1882.

Application filed November 7, 1881. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Beitknown that I, SWITS COND1',oi'Oswego, in the county of Oswego, in the State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Design for Knit Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the acconr panying drawing, is a full, clear, and exact description.

This design consists in anovel arrangement of stripes knitted in fabric for underwear.

The design is fullyillnstratedin the annexed drawing, which represents apiece of fabric embodying my design, the arrangement of the stripes being asfollows, to wit: first, a wide mottled stripe, a, then a narrow plain stripe, b, then another wide mottled stripe, a, like the first, then anarrow plai n stripe, b, then a narrow mottled stripe, c, then another narrow plain stripe, l, and then again ayide mottled stripe, a,like the first, andso on, the succeeding stripes following in the order aforesaid. All of said stripes are straight and parallel, as shown.

What I claim is- The design for knit fabric, consisting in the following arrangement of stripes, to wit: first, a wide mottled stripe, a, then a narrow plain stripe, 1/, then another wide mottled stripe, a, like the first, then a narrow plain stripe, b, then anarrow mottled stripe, c, then another narrow plain stripe, b, and then again a wide mottled stripe, a, like the first, and so on, all of said stripes being straight and parallel, substantially as shown and described.
