DESIGN FOR FUNERAL ORNAMENTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,754, dated April 27, 1880.
Application filed April 2, 1880.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WM. M. SMITH, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new 5 Design for Funeral Ornaments; and I do here by declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letter of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same,
1 0 and which said drawingconstitutes part of this specification, and represents a front view.
This invention relates to a design for emblematical ornaments to be used for coffin or funeral ornament; and it consists in the rep- 15 resentation of a shock of ripe corn, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
Term of patent 7 years The ornament represents numerous stalks of corn gathered together and secured by a band, a. On the stalk the husks are opened on several ears, exposing the full corn in the 20 ear. .The leaves and tips expand to give the appearance of fullness to the shock.
I claim- The design for funeral ornaments, consisting of the representation of a full shock of corn, 25 the full corn in the ear exposed, as described, and shown in the accompanying illustration.
