Specification forming part of Design No. 11,470, dated October 21, 1879; application filed September 11, 1879. [Terni of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, GEORGE GARDNER BAILEY, Jr., and JAMES GILBERT, of Boston,

. and bottom, connected by curved lines with the body, except the letters O, G, Q, T, Z, and

character &. The broad line of each letter runs below the horizontal base line, with a spur and a dot attached, except in the letters A, C, J, M, N, 0, Q, S, U, V, W, X, and Z, which, with the exception of Q, have each a hair-line running below the base. The righthand broad line of the letter H projects above the top horizontal line, and has a dot attached. The crosslines ot' the letters A, E, F, and H project through the letter to the left, with a pin-head-like ornament at the end. The single body-lines and the left-hand body-lines of the respective letters, Where the lines are double, are not lled in or rounded at the inner corners at their junction with the horizontal baseline. The letters K, N, U, V, W, X, and Y have at their tops a spur proceeding` diagonally upward at the right-hand side.

vWhat we claim as our invention is- The design for a font ot' printing-types, substantially as described.
