Specification forming part of Design No. 10,527, dated March 12, 1878; application filed February 25, 1878. [Term of patent 31} years] To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, THOMAS E. PENNELL, of Brooklyn, New York, have originated and designed a Pattern for Oil-Cloths, of which I hereby declare the following to be a specification.

The nature of my design is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration, which forms a part of this specification.

My design consists, substantially, of a series of octagonal figures, A, arranged in regular succession in lines at right angles to each other. Within a bordering these octagons inclose a bunch of leaves and flowers, B. A series of squares, G, is placed at the intersections of the octagons, in such manner as to overlap, spaces of groundwork D being allowed to appear between the squares and octagons. The squares are centrally ornamented with radiating geometric figures E.
