have inventeda new and useful Improvement on a Curtain-Fixture; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a palt of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view.,
Figure 2 is a longitudinal elevation.
Figures 3 are transverse sections.
Figure 2 is a drawing of a part of a curtain-fixing attached to the end of the roller with the ratchet, as applied to the end of the fixing.
Figure 3 A isa drawing of the bracket with the drop-lever attached, riveted on the end of the bracket D, forming an axle for the lever E to work on'.
Figure 3 B shows a drawing of the outside of the bracket, showing the stop a, on the lever E, only allowing the lever to rise just high enough to clear the4 ratchet when placed in the hole in the bracket to receive it.
Figure 3 C shows a drawing of the transverse section of the ratchet.
The fixtures are constructed of iron or brass, in different sizes, and act as follows:
The roller end, fig. 2, is placed in the bracket, iig. 3 A, the pin being placed in the aperture G. The cord is then xed in the drum of the roller and passed through the aperture in the return end of the` lever H. By pulling the cord the lever is lifted out of the ratchet I, and, allowing the cord to run through the fin gers, the curtain descends. On pulling the cord the curtain rises; letting go the cord, the curtain stops where required. i
WhatI claim as my invention is- The combination of the roller with ratchet I, slotted bracket G, and lever E, constructed and arranged to operate as herein described, for the purpose specified ` THOMAS BIURGIN.
