To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANKLIN F. HER` RING, citizen of the United States, residing at Bono, in the county of Graighead and State of Arkansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Basket- Bib Frames, of which the following is a speciication.

This invention relates to apparel, and refers particularly to an improved bib and frame for supporting the same in the form of a basket.

The invention has for an object to provide a frame adapted to support the bib in a looped position so as to form a basket to catch crumbs, and the like, and prevent the same from falling on the floor.

The invention contemplates a spring frame which yieldingly engages about the body of a child and which is provided with spring-arms over the shoulders of the child to support the main frame.

For a full understanding of the invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved device in position. Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the central portion of the device. Fig. 3 is a front elevation of the frame having the bib detached therefrom.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the accompanying drawing by the same reference characters.

Referring to the drawing the numeral 10 designates a body-band formed of a strip of spring steel bent into substantially elliptical form and having its free ends spaced apart as disclosed. The free ends of the bodyband 10 are overturned to provide eyes 11 through which a cord or the like may be passed for holding the ends of the band together. The band 10 is further provided with upstanding ears 12 which are positioned adjacent to the sides of the band and which pivotally support swinging shouldern arms 13. The arms 13 pass upwardly and are provided with rearwardly arched portions 14 engaging over the shoulder to retain the arms 13 in position, The upper ends of the arms 13 are provided with headed studs or buttons 15 standing out from the lower ends of the arched portions 14.

A supporting band 16 is secured at its opposite ends against the sides of the bodyband 10 by rivets 17, or the like. The supporting band 16 is looped outwardly substantially in the plane of the body-band 10 to a short distance to provide a space between the bands 10 and 16. A plurality of spaced headed studs or buttons 18 extend outwardly from the supporting band 16.

A bib 19 formed of textile or other iiexible material is attached at its upper end upon the buttons 15 and passes downwardly between the bands 10 and 16. The lower end of the bib 19 is looped forwardly and upwardly against the inner face of the supporting band 16 and has its edge turned over the upper edge of the supporting band and attached upon the buttons 18. It is thus observed that the lower end of the bib 19 is provided with a pocket to receive the crumbs, and the like during the use of the device.

The shoulder-arms 13 serve the purpose of preventing the body-band 10 from slipping down as well as to support the upper end of the bib 19.

Having thus described the invention what outwardly therefrom, independently hinged shoulder arms carried upon the body band normally extending upwardly therefrom, and a bib depending from the upper ends of the shoulder arms between the bands and having its lower end looped up over the edge of the supporting band to form a pocket.

2. In combination with a bib, a yielding band for engagement about the waist, independently hinged shoulder arms carried upon the band and engaging over the shoulders of the wearer to support the upper end of the bib, and a supporting frame carried at the forward side of the body frame and being spaced outwardly therefrom to carry the upturned lower end of the bib.
