Description

G. S. AGEE.
BDGBB. TABLE. APPLIUATION FILED' M1111. 11, 1919.
Patented Apr. 18,1911.
GEORGE S. AGEE, OF MALVERN, ARKANSAS.
EDGER-TABLE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Apr. 18, 1911.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, GEORGE S. AGEE, a citi- Zen of the United States, residing at Malvern, in the county of Hot Spring and State of Arkansas, have invented a new and useful Edger-Table, of which the following is a specication.
This invention relates to an edger table and it consists in the novel construction and arrangement of its parts as hereinafter shown and described.
The object of the invention is to provide an edger table having adjustable guides adapted to be easily and quickly shifted so that the boards which are passed over the table may be properly presented to the edging saws.
With the above object in view the table is provided with the usual supporting rollers for the boards and at its side edges is provided withtransversely disposed guides. Blocks are slidably mounted in the said guides and straight edge bars are mounted upon the blocks and are located one at each side of the table. Levers are fulcrumed under the said rollers and pivot blocks are mounted upon the said levers and links adjustably connect the said pivot blocks with the said guides.
In the accompanying drawings Figure l is a top plan view of the edger table with parts broken away. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 8 is a transverse sec- .tional view of the same on the line 3-3 of blocks 4 and are located one at each side of' the table 1. Levers 6 are fulcrumed at the delivery end of the table 1 and are located under the rolls 2. The free ends of the said levers project beyond the receiving Iend of the table and the said table at its receiving end is provided with a series of notches 7 which are adapted to receive the projecting end portions of the levers 6 and serve as means for adjustably holding the said levers the blocks 4 which .are slidably mounted in the guides 3. Nuts l() are screw threaded upon the inner ends of the links 9 and serve as means for adjustably securing the links 9 with respect to the pivot blocks 8 and hence means is provided for lengthening or shortening the links to hold the straight edge bars 5 in desired positions.
By this arrangement it will be seen that an edger table is provided which includes a lever actuated straight edge bar with means positively holding the said bar in an adjusted position; also means to adjust the bar with respect to its connection with the lever whereby the edge of the said bar which serves as a guide for the board may be maintained in a desired relation.
Having described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. An edger table including atable frame, transversely disposed guides mounted thereon, blocks slidably mounted in said guides, a straight edge bar mounted upon said blocks, a lever fulcrumed to the table, a block pivotally mounted upon the lever and links connecting the opposite ends of the pivot block with the blocks slidably mounted in the guides.
2. An edger table includingatable frame, guides mounted thereon, blocks slidably mounted in the guides, a straight edge bar mounted upon the blocks, a leverulcrumed to the table frame, and adjustable links operatively connecting the blocks slidably mounted in the guides with the said lever.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto aiiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
Copies of this patent may be obtained for iive cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents, Washington, ID. G.
