IMPROVEMENT IN FENCE.

The Schedule referred tn .in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To ail whom 'it may conce/rn Be it known' that I, DANIEL JOHNSTON, of Granberry, in the county 'of`Crawford, and in the State of Ohio, have invented oertainnew and useful Improvements in Fences; and do-l1ereby declare that the fol-` lowing is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, and'to the letters of reference marked thereon, makf ing a part of this specication.

i'Ihe nature of mylinvention consists in the peculiar. construction of the posts in which fence panels are secured.

In Order to enable others skilled in the ait to which my invention `appertains,'to make and use the same,

I will now proceed to describe :its constructionand operation, referring to the` annexed drawings, in

The upright posts C O are braced by the inclined bars D I), the lower ends ofA which are cut so as to rest on both the sills A A, and the centre'extends down between the same.

The -upper ends of the braces D D are cut out, so that they extend one on each side, and brace both the upright posts G C, as seen in iig. .1.

Having thus fully described my invention,
