Lamp-Shade;- @and I do hereby declare that th e following is a full, clear, 'and exact description thereof, which will enable .other-s. skilled in the .art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, 'forming part'of this specification.

This invention relates'lto `improvements in .lamps shades for application to the 'glass chimneys of kerosene and other similar lamps,`having for its object to provide an improved'construction and arrangement for shades made inv sections, for expanding and contracts ing, 13o/ vary the extent of the shade.

Figure 1 represents a plan view of my' imp1'oVed shade, and A Figure 2 represents a section lof the same.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding A represents the h'ezragonal wire support, and B,

the segmental sections of the shade, hinged thereto,

so as to work freely u p and down, for expanding or contracting. These sections lap atthe edges, `so

as to admit .of expanding or contracting to a con-v siderable extentfwithout permittingthe light to .pass

between them, as shown in'dottcd lines.

Near the base, each section is provided with .a
