Be it known that I IVILLI'AM J. BOEMPER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rutherford, in the county of 'Bergen vand AState of New Jersey, have` invented an Improvement in Attachments for Safety-Fuses,l

Heretofore so far as I am aware, consideiable d iihculty has beeirexperienced yin sepa vrating safety fuses from the' clip terminals in which the saine are connected in a fuse box and other electrical fittings, and this be-y cause of the-nic'ety of the fit between the terminals of the safety fuse devices and the clip terminals in which the same are inserted and also because' of the strength of the spring in clip terminals which has to be overcome in removing the fuse terminals therefrom.

The object of my present invention is to overcome the hereinabove mentioned diiculties by the provisioiilof a device adapted to be attached to a spring clip terminal, a knife-blade terminal or other forni of safety fuse terminal clip and by the use of which the safety fuse can be readily removed from its operative position in theclip terminal.

In carrying'out my invention, I employ I ltwo members pivotally secured together and the said opposing each adapted to be connected to'an opposing part of/the safety fuse terminal clip, and

means by-.which pressure may beemployed and transmitted through said members to to spread the saine in order that the fuse with its terminals may be readily with-v drawn. Referring to the drawing and particularlyto Fig. l, a designates a base of any suitable insulating material upon which` a springclip safety fuse terminal b is to be secured by means of a screw or bolt c or otherwise. I also employ a thumb-piece 01 which as shown in Figwl, is made integral with the arm Z and turned over at right angles thereto adjacentvto tliepoint in which the arm l ispivotally. connected to the arm 2'. It will be apparent however, that this thumb-piece 'n may .without departing from the nature and spirit of my invention, turn outwardly instead of inwardly, or .may if desired be mounted upon the saine pivot by which the arms are connected instead of being made integral with one of the arms. 2. An attachment for safety fuse clips comprising two pivotally connected curved arms, each having an undercut recess in its outer edge adjacent toits free end and by which the same is adapted tobe connected t0 the fuse clip, and means through which pressure may be applied and transmitted to said arms and the latter apart.

3. An attachment for safety fuse clips comprising two pivotally connected curved arms, each having an undercut recess in its outer edge adjacent to its free end and by which thesame is adapted to be connected lto the fuse clip anda thumb-piece integral with one ofthe said arms and by means of which pressure maybe. applied and transmitted through the arm tothe opposing parts of the fuse clip tospread the latter.
