To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, ETTA N. SMITH, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Red Oak, in the county of Montgomery and State of Iowa, have invented new and useful Improvements in Photographers Appliances, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to photographers appliances, and one of the principalobjects of the same is to provide a chair and means for holding an infant firmly in position in said chair during the operation of taking a photograph.
Another object of the invention is to provide an appliance for taking photographs of infants and children, said appliance comprising a seat or chair adapted to be clamped to a table or other suitable support of the required height and to provide straps connected to the chair for firmly holding the child in place therein. c
These and otherobjects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in Which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a photographers appliance made in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a detail view illustrating the manner in which the body strap is connected to the rear of the chair back.
Referring to the drawing for a more particular description of my inventionLthe numeral 1 designates the chair bottom which may be suitably upholstered and supported upon legs 2 to which a base 3 is secured. Side arms 4 are provided for the chair seat and a back 5 is secured to the seat and arms, said back having a reduced upper end 6. lA body strap 7 is connected to the rear surface of the reduced portion 6 of the back, by means of loops 8 through which the ends of the body strap 7 pass, and an adjusting de- Specif'ication of Letters Patent.
Application filed .Tune 21, 1907.

vice consisting of a buckle 9 is connected to the ends of said body stra as shown more particularly in Fig. 2. les leg strap 10 is passed through slots 11 in the side arms 4 and provided with a buckle 12 for adjusting said strap. .A suitable clamp 13 may be utilized for clamping the chair to a table or other suitable support 14.
My appliance may be used as follows: The body strap 7 is passed around under thearms of the child and under the outer garment so as to not be in sight when the picture is taken, and the leg strap 10 is adjusted across the legs of the child and. is covered by the y clothing.
From the foregoing it will be obvious that a device made in accordance with my invention is of simple construction, is efficient for its purpose, can be quickly adjusted for use, and provides a very useful appliance for photographers use.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is:
The herein described appliance for photographers use comprising a chair mounted on legs, said legs being secured to a base, a clamp for securing said base to a table, said chair having outwardly and upwardly eX- tending sides, and a back connecting said sides, said back having a reduced upper end, a body strap provided with adjusting devices, said body strap being secured to keepers behind the back of a chair, and a leg strap passed across and through openings in the sides of a chair and provided with adjusting devices.
