To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY J. REYNOLDS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bettie, in the county of, Upshur, State of Texas, have invented certain new anduseful Improvements in Belts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it ap-. pertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new and useful im rovements in attachments for apparel I of the skeleton frame to which the apparel belt is attached, theobject being to provide a belt attachment of this character which shall be of novel construction. I

The details of the invention willappear in the course of the following descriptlon, in which reference is had to the accom anying drawings forming a part of this speci cation, like characters of reference designating similar parts 1 throughout 'the several views, wherein v Figure 1 is an elevation of the attachment per sc. Fig. 2 is an elevation thereof showing its application to a belt and looking at the inner face of the belt Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view of the construction shown in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a View illustratinga slightly modified construction.

In the accompanying drawings, the belt is designatedby the numeral 5 and the attachment forming the subject matter of the present invention is designated by the numeral 6,

the said attachment comprising upper and lower strands of flexible wire 7 and 8, the strand 7 having one end bentat substantially a right angle as at 7 and connected to the adjacent endlof the strand 8, and the strand 8 having its opposite end bent at a right angle as at 8 and connected with the i adjacent end of the strand 7. In their parallel relation the strands 7 and 8 are connected by a plurality of resilient wire rings 9, the rings 9 being secured to said strands by soldering or in any other suitable manner. The belt 5 has its edge portions bent around the strands 7 and 8 and secured to the body of said belt by stitching 10. The provision of the rings 9 afiords a means for preventing the belt from wrinkling transversely or longitudinally. Said rings are of sufiicient resiliency to yield or give when the belt is in use.

In the modified embodiment of the invention the attachment is designed for use in connection with belts of that type which are of increased width at their central portion and which narrow toward their ends, and with this object in view strands 7 and 8" are employed which have a bow-shaped conformation of the same degree as the edges of the belt, the strands 7 a and 8 corresponding to. the strands 7 and 8 and having their ends connected in similar manner. The strands 7 and 8 are connected by resilient wire rings 9 corresponding to the rings 9, the central ring 9 being of greatest diameter and the rings on eachslde of the central ring successively decreasing in diameter as they approach the ends of the strands 7 and 8 The invention is simple in its structural details, inexpensive to manufacture, and

practical and eflicient in use.

What is claimed is:

The combination with a flexible belt body of an attachment comprising parallel upper and lower wires adapted for connection with said body and resilient wire rings connecting said wires and secured thereto.
