To all whom it may concern v I i Be it known that L'WILLIAM MERRELL, of Kent,
in the county of Portage, 'and-State of Ohio, have invented a new and improved Iron=Eenoe-Post; and I 'do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact' description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a pait of this specification, in which-` Figure 1 is a front View of my invention.

The object of this invention is to furnish a fencepost which is simple, durable, cheap, and eieient.
It consists of a flat metallic fence-post, usually of g iron, and provided withv groups of studs for receiving and holding the planks or horizontal parts of the frame. The post, A, is of 'cast-iron, and is provided with the groups of studs, a a. a a a, live' or more, arranged as shown, and. within which studs the ends of the wooden planks or boards, B, t with snug contact.
