Be it known that I, EDMUND L. AWTRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Atlanta, in the county of Fulton and State of Georgia, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Mosquito-Net Frames, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to adjustable frames over which a mosquito-net can be placed.

The object of the invention is to permit thp1 ready adjustment of the netting above a be The invention consists of the novel features of construction and combination of parts hereinafter described, pointed out in the claims, and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of my frame, the head of a bed being shown in dotted lines and the net being removed. Fig. 2 is a detail plan view of the plates and arm, being shown in section.

In the drawings, A represents a block of wood which can be fastened to the back of a head of the bed by means of suitable screws, so that there is no defacement of the front or face surface of the headpiece.

The block A projects upwardly above the head-piece and on its rear face is mortised, and a bar B is secured therein and at right angles to the block" A, the bar B projecting upon opposite sides of the block. The block A also carries adjacent one upper corner a bracket A, which carries a pulley C. A curved downwardly-extending arm D is carried by the front face of the block A, and parallel metal plates D, connected at their rear ends, are pivoted to the opposite sides of the arm D and adjacent their free ends are angled so as to diverge from each other, as shown at D and to the angled portions D are secured the inner end portions of wooden bars E, which bars extend obliquely with reference to the bed toward the corners of the foot of the bed.

A cord F is connected at its ends to eyes B, carried by the ends of the bar B, and this cord passes through eyes E, placed. at the free ends of the bars E, and the cord F and. bar B form a rectangular frame braced by the bars E, over which a mosquito-netting can be draped.

The bars E are connected by a cross-piece Specification of Letters Patent.

E and a cord G is connected at one end of the bar E and is provided with a handle G at its other end, the cord running over the pulley C.

It will be obvious that the foot portion of the frame can be lifted vertically by drawing downwardly upon the handle G and that the frame can, therefore, be adjusted so that it will rest parallel to or at an angle to the bed.

The block D carries a pin D which acts as a stop for the arms D. This prevents the free ends of the frame from dropping two low. The block D also carries at one side a stop-pin D against which one of the arms D rests when the frame is in a lifted position.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. A device of the kind described compris ing a block, a bar carried by the block and at right angles thereto, an arm carried by the block, divergent bars pivotally supported from the block, a cord connected to the ends of the first-mentioned bar and carried around the ends of the pivotally-supported bars, and means for raising and lowering the last-mentioned bars.

2. A device of the kind described comprising a supporting-block, pivotally-supported, divergent bars, a cross-piece carried by the bars, a pulley on the block, a cord connected to the free ends of all of the bars, and a cord connected to the cross-piece and extending over the pulley.

3. The combination with a block having a curved arm, extending downwardly from the front face of the block, metal strips pivoted to opposite sides of the curved arm and having divergent forward portions, bars connected to said forward portions, a bar carried by the block and at right angles thereto, a cord extending from the bar carried by the block to and across the front ends of the bars car ried by the metal strips, a cross-piece connecting the last-mentioned bars, a pulley carried by'the block and a cord running over the pulley connected at one end to the crosspiece.
