Be it known that I, EUGENE L. '.lAItnoX, of Nashville, in the county of Davidson, and State of Tennessee, haveiuvented a new and improved Stencil-Plate; and I do hereby declare that the following is'a'full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same,`refer`enee being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification. l v
This invention relates to plates, through which letters or figures are cut for marking boites, bales, and other articles, called stencil-plates. I i
Andit consists in arranging the letters ofthe alphabet and the figures in circles, and in a revolving shield,
whereby the letters or iigures'mayy be transferred singly, or one at a. time.

It is fastened to the plate by a screw or otherwise. i
