Beit known that LGEORGE H.DILLIN,aeiti zen of the United States, residing at W'atertown, in the county of Jefferson and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment-Fasteners; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in garment-supporters, and especially to a novel device for use in connection with the band of trousers to support drawers; and it consists in the provision of a springhook made,preferably,of a single piece of IieXible wire and bent substantially U shape to form means whereby the device maybe caught over the edge of lthe trousers-baud or over a Y button, while the ends of the supporting device are bent downwardly and thence at right angles and adapted to engage the upper end of the drawers.

The invention consists,further,in other details of the construction of the device, which will he hereinafter fully described and then specifically defined in the appended claim.

My invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which, with the letters ot reference marked thereon, form a part of this invention,and in which drawings similar letters of reference indicate like features in the drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of A.the garment supporting device, showing a form which is adapted to be attached to the trousers-band at one side. View through the band of a pair of trousers and upper portion of a pair of drawers shown as fastened together with one of my improved supporters.

Fig. 2 is a sectionalk Reference now being had to the details of theconstruction of the garment-supporting device, A designates a piece of wire which is bent into coils, as at B B, and the shank portion of the wire intermediate said coils is bent 5o in substantially U shape, as shown, and is adapted to be caught over the band of a pair of trousers. The ends of the Wire, after being bent into a plane parallel to the U-shaped portion, are bent at right angles to the down wardly-extending arms and toward the U- shaped portions. These ends are iiexible, and after the device has been applied to the .band of the trousers the ends may be sprung out to allow the upper end of the drawers to 6o be placed against the trousers-band, and after they are adjusted in proper position with reference to said band the ends of the wire, which are sharpened, engage the edge of the drawers and will causesame to be supported, 6 5

While I have shown a particular shape of garment-supporter embodying my invention, it will be understood that I may vary the shape of the device without departing from 7o A garment-supporting device comprising a single piece of flexible wire bent substantially U -shaped and adapted to engage under a button fastened to a trousers-band, coils formed in the wire with a space interveningbetween each and the U-shaped portion of the wire, 8o

the ends of the wire being pointed and inwardly bent and adapted to penetrate the waistband of a pair of drawers and engage the band of trousers, as set forth.
