IMPROVEMENT IN PLQWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 69,083, dated September 24, 1867.
To allwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J. D. EVANS, of Pleasant Hill, Talbotton P. 0., Talbot county, State of Georgia, have invented new and useful Improvements in Flows; and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description' thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and t0 the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a side view of the plow; Fig. 2, a stay attached to the beam and footregulator; Fig. 3, a top view of the plow. Fig. 4 shows the construction of the foot regulator or support.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction of the foot support and regulator as an adjustable device, as combined with the footstay and beam.
A represents the foot or plow, that is pointed and curved in front and square at the top, with a bolt and nut, H, fastening it to the front of the regulator 13, that is bolted and pivoted to the beam on each side of the beam at E and E. J is a connecting brace or stay, that is bolted at U to the center of the support or regulator B, and also to the beam at F, that is the pivoted brace for the regulator B, as the regulator B is adjusted to the required inclination by fastening the bolt 0 through the upper or lower apertures K K. The plow or foot A is adjusted higher orlower by means of the bolt and nut H, fitting between the sides of the regulator B, for the purpose of running the foot or plow A deep or shallow, according to the depth of furrow required.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The construction of the foot A and regulator B, as pivoted with bolts at U, and clamped on both sides of the beam D at E and E, when arranged and combined as herein described, and for the purposes set forth.
