Fig. 5 is a sectional view of the name-plate, collar, and clamp combined on line 5 5 ot' Fig. 1.
My present invention relates to a detachable clamp for holding nameeplates or licensetags; and it consists of a metal sheet so formed by having its edges turned as to be readily attached to or detached from a belt or animal- 3o collar and having an opening through which the plate or card bearing the owners name and address or the license-number and name of the animal may be easily read.
Similar reference-letters refer to like parts throughout the several igures.

show end of clamp turned slightly, so as to press firmly on the belt or collar, thus preventing the name-plate from working out.
The clamp must be of metal suiiiciently pli-il able to permit of turning its edges, so as to form a groove or recess for engaging the edges of the belt or animal-collar.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isn
l. A detachable clamp or name-plate for belts, collars and the' like, consisting of a sheet of'metal having its upper and lower edges turned over backward so as to overlap respectively the upper and lower edges of said belt or collar, and having its side edges turned inward slightly so as to press firmly on said belt or collar, said sheet of metal also being provided with a slot or opening in its center l and adapted to have a card inserted between said sheet and belt or collar so as to be visible throu gh said slot, said card being securely retained in place by the inwardvturning of said side edges, substantially as set forth.
2. A detachable clamp or name-plate for belts, collars and the like, consisting of a sheet of metal having its upper and lower edges turned over backward so as to overlap respectively the upper and lower edges of said belt or collar, and having its side edges turned inward slightly so as to press firmly on said belt or collar, preventing said clamp from accidentally slipping, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above as my invention I have hereunto subscribed my lname in the presence of two witnesses.
