TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JOHN A. RUSS, of Springfield, Harnpden county, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Combination of Tools for the Pocket, 860.; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon.

This invention consists of a combination of small and useful tools, arranged in a compact and convenient form so that it can be carried in the pocket or kept in a larlys work-box.

In construction '1 form my device of two pieces. A and B, riveted together near one end, and forming at the other a pair of tweezers working on the rivet G. Inside these pieces, and hung to the same rivet, are several small instruments, namely, a'knife-bladc, a, having its shank continued and formed into a screw-driver, b, a rule, a, divided as desired, a crochet-hook, d, and an ear-spoon, a, formed of the same piece and working on the rivet at thejnnction of their shanks, and two pieccs,f and g, which are formed at their ends so as to produce a pair of callipers and a pair of dividers, the former being arranged for inside or outside callipers. On the outside of one of the jaws A or B is cut a file for shaping the nails and similar purposes. These pieces, as before stated, work upon the wrist a, connecting the jaws of the tweezers, which form the handle for the smaller instruments which shut up between them so as to occupy but little space, but so arranged that they can be readily opened for use. In the drawings- Figure 1 shows this instrument with the parts shut up.

Figure 2 shows the same with the parts open.

Figure 3 shows the manner of fastening together.

In order that the pieces A and 13 shall be held firmly in place and not be liableto get out of place, I form the rivet with shoulders and square tenons, O O, which fit in square slots through the pieces A and B, and are thus riveted and securely attached. By this means I form a useful and convenient devicefor the various .purposes for which these instruments are used, combined so as to occupy little space, and still are as effective as when formed separately.
