Figure 2 is a section taken in line e z, lig. 1.
Similar lettersoi` reference indicate like parts in the several figures.
The object of this invention is to provide an adjustable or detachable shoe of cheap construction.
In theaccompanying drawing, A A, fig. 1, is the shoe, and K K is a retaining band, .which is fastened to one heel of the shoe, and passesaround and over the front of the hoot',and is secured at its outer end to the toc of thc shoe at one side, so as to be about opposite to the startingpoint at the heel, and the toc-clip B is placed mainly opposite to that heelrof the shoe to which the rear end of the retaining hand is attached. is a heel-rest or barclip on the side of the heel, to which the retaining band K is attached. Fig. 2i-represents a section of the clamping-screw taken in the line z z, fig. 1. The screw 7L, fig. 1, is provided with aratchet-head, i, which engages with a. spring detent or catch, m, fig. 2, to prevent thc screw from turning after it has been adjusted.
In operation this shoe provides for the expansion of the foot under pressure, and to the toe vin front and opposite to said heel, While the other heelis left free to allow lateral expansion and contraction of the foot.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to .secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. I claim the placing of a toe-clip B on one side of the toe of the shoe so aste be mainly opposite one of the heels of the shoe, when the said opposite heel and the toe-clip are used to secure the shoe to the foot, while one heel of the foot is left free for lateral expansion, substantially in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
2. Iqclaim alclamping band, K K', running from oneheel of the shoe over in front of the hoof and fastening to the toe of the shoe opposite to the storting point of the heel,` in combination with the heel-rest j, substantially in the manner and for the purpose set forth. Y i
