JACOB D. WINSLOV, OF WILMINGTON, DELAWARE.
IMPROVEMENT IN FLOOR-CLANIPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 59,305, dated October 30, 1866.
To alt whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB D. VVINSLOW, ofA

My invention consists in providing a stout block of Wood, a, with rounded ends, and furnished with iron hookshaped dogs b, pointed for driving into the joist c, and working upon a pivot-bolt in the center of the block. This block is provided with lugs or ears d d, for keeping it in place upon the joist in operating.
In using this clamp, the block a is set u-pon the joist at the proper distance from the Wedge e. The dogs b b are then driven into thejoist at the proper angle, and the boards sent home to their place by driving up the wedge e.
I am aware that joists have been used'to clamp the door in laying it down by boring a hole or holes and using iron pins and wedges; but this planot' mine differs entirely from all others.
I do not claim the dogs, block, or Wedge, of themselves; but
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is.
The combination ot' the block a, composed of Wood or other suitable material, (with or without ears or lugs d.cl,) with the iron dogs b b and the wedge e, as hereinabove described, or any other appliances substantially the same, as and for a Hoor-clamp.
