Be it known that I, ROSA 0. WHITE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waldoborough, in the county of Lincoln and State of Maine, have invented a new and useful Heater-Frame for Lamps, of which the following is a specification.

This invention provides a support to be used in connection with a lamp which will be of simple and novel construction and by means of which the heat from an ordinary lamp may be effectively applied for boiling water, heating fluids, or warming any article desired. The support is in the nature of a frame and adjustable to adapt it for use in connection with any size lamp within certain limits, the frame comprising similar top and bottom pieces of substantially U form and constructed of bars halved together at their meeting ends, telescoping standards serving to connect the frame-bars at their matching extremities, means for securing the standards in an adjusted position, and a perforate shelf removably fitted upon the top frame and forming arest for the vessel or article to be heated.

For a-full understanding of the merits and advantages of the invention reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings and the following description.

The improvement is susceptible of various changes-in the form, proportion, and the minor details of construction without departing from the principle orsacrificing any of the advantages thereof, and to a full disclosure of the invention an adaptation thereof is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention, showingit applied. Fig. 2 is a detail view in section of a standard. Fig; 3 is a transverse section of the upper portion of the support.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in the several views of the drawings by the same reference-characters.

The top and bottom or end pieces are similarly constructed and appear as three-sided frames or are of approximately U form, one side being open to admit of the lamp 1 being readily removed or placed in position after the support has been adjusted to the height of the lamp with which it is to be used. Each end piece is composed of three bars 2, which have their meeting ends halved together and secured by means of the standards, the latter having their outer end portions threaded and screwed into corresponding threaded openings in the bars, as most clearly indicated in Fig. 2. The end pieces are connected at their corners by standards or uprights which are constructed so as to be lengthened or shortened, thereby adapting the frame or support to the height of the lamp, and, as shown, each standard is formed of a tubular member 3 and a rod 4, the latter being slidingly or telescopically fitted within the member 3 and held in an adjusted position by a binding-screw 5, let into a'threaded opening in the side of the tubular member 3 near its free end. By loosening the binding-screws 5 theend pieces can be separated or brought together, and when properly adjusted are secured by tightenin g the binding-screws, so as to cause them to bear against the sides of the rods or members 4 with sufficient force to retain the parts in place.

A shelf 6 is placed upon the top or upper end piece and is perforate and has its edge portions bent to embrace the outer edges of the side bars, so as to retain the shelf in place. This shelf is of sheet metal and forms a rest for the utensil or article to be heated and .when not required for use can be readily removed from the support. I

A frame constructed as herein set forth can be packed in a small space for storing or shipping, inasmuch as the standards may be detached from the end pieces, and the latter will come apart, thereby admitting of the desired end being effected.
