FAN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 527,423, dated October 16, 1894.
Application filed October 19, 1893. Serial No. 488,654. (No model.)
My invention is illustrated in the accom panying drawing.
The fan 13 has a movable handle a, which is made of suitable material, preferably wire, bent into the form shown in the drawing.
The handle a is held to the fan B by means of a clamp b, which is attached to the fan by 20 any suitable means.
A stop 0 in the clamp prevents the handle afrom being pushed in beyond the clamp, and the ends of the handle, Z, Z, are bent outwardly sufficiently to prevent the handle from being withdrawn from the clamp, when the handle is in use. i
The dotted lines in the drawing show the position of the handle when the same is pushed in upon the face of the fan.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a fan, in combination, the adjustable handle a, having outwardly bent ends Z, Z, the clamp 17, and the stop 0, substantially as and for the purposes described.
