Fig. 3 is a similar section taken in a plane at right angles to the plane of Fig. Fig. a is a longitudinal section of a modification.

In the drawings, the letter A designates the body of the handle, which is made in any convenient forn and of any suitable material, a poor conductorof beat-such as woodbeing preferable. tudinalbore, a, and a tran sverse bore, b, which borcs interseot each other and are intended to receive the handle-seotions B and (l.
In said body A is a longi In the handle-section C 'is forned an internal thread, c, which receives an external thread, d, on the end of the handle-section B, 5
whereby thetwo handle-sections are con nectcd to each other in the interier of the body A and are held firnly to said body.
able way-for instance, as shown in Fig. l, by the use of attaching-platcs e andf, which are soldered to said sections and to the pot.
The body A is at its upper end fol-med into a solid closed head, which can be ornainented in any fashion desired, and the main bore (L and transverse counterbore b intersect or join at the inner side of the closed head.
i The sections B and C are coinposed of wires 1 or rods circular in cross-section, and, as shown, i the inner end of one has ascrew-thread which directly screws into a screw-socket forned in the inner end of the other, while the oui'er end of each wire or rod section is bent into a Vertical plane, or approximately so, so that A handle constructed as hereiubefore described can herapidlya'd eheaply produced, and presen's a nent and ornanental appearance.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A handle for coffee-pots and other articles, consisting of a body, A, having a solid closed head, a longitudinal bore extending into the body to the closed head thei-cof, a counterbore, b, extending laterally through the body at right angles to the main bore below the head, and the handle-sections B and C, eX- tending, respectively, into the said bores, one having forncd directly in its extremity a transverse scz'ew-socket, into which, directly screws the screw-threaded end of the other, the outer en ds of said sections being` bent and adapted to be attached to the article, subi stantially as shown and described.
In Fig. 4( I have shown the lanile-section (3 as being provided wilt-h an external thread,
