To this end, I provide a vertically elongated hollow rectangular case having means at the upper end detachably engaging a belt around the waist of the user. The case has a vertical zipper in one major surface providing access into the case interior and may in addition be open at this upper end. The case is adapted to detachably receive a folded pair of eye glasses such as sun glasses. A structure secured to the other and opposite major surface includes two parallel vertical pockets open at top and bottom ends and detachably receiving pens, pencils or the like.
The user can thus carry these various items in the manner and for the purpose previously indicated.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a perspective view of my invention as ready for use;
FIG. 2 is an enlarged front view of my invention;
FIG. 3 is a view taken along line 3-3 in FIG. 2;
FIG. 4 is a rear view of my invention; and
FIG. 5 is an enlarged detail side view of my invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. 15, a flexible hollow vertically elongated rectangular case has a loop 12 detachably engagable with a belt 14 worn about the waist of a wearer. The belt is secured to the upper end of the case.
The case has an opening 16 at its upper end and has an inner chamber adapted to detachably receive folded eye glasses 18. A zipper 20 vertically disposed along a vertical center line on one major surface 22 also provides access to the interior. The opposite major surface 24 contains two parallel vertical slots 26.
A structure 28 is provided with two horizontally separated outer vertically elongated pockets 30 and 32 open at top and bottom ends. The structure has opposite vertical edges which extend through slots 26 and while remaining vertical are bent at right angles as shown at 34 to hold the structure in place.
The pockets can receive removable pens 26, pencils 28 and the like.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:
l. A device for carrying eye glasses and writing implements comprising:
a vertically elongated hollow rectangular case open at its top end, said case having first and second opposite major surfaces with a vertically elongated zipper in the first surface to provide access to the interior of the case, the second major surface having two parallel vertical slots spaced inwardly from its outer edges, the case being adapted to removably receive a folded pair of eye glasses;
means at the upper end of the case adapted to be detachably secured to the waist belt of a user whereby the case can hang downward therefrom, said means including a belt engaging hook; and
a pair of adjacent but horizontally spaced vertically elongated U shaped elements formed from a unitary structure which when attached to said second major surface forms pockets which are closed except for open top and bottom ends, the structure having opposite vertically extending edges which extend through said slots, and then at right angles thereto and parallel to the inside surface of said second major surface to hold the structure in place, the pockets being located on the outside of the second major surface of the case and being adapted to removably receive pens, pencils or other writing
Claims (1)
1. A device for carrying eye glasses and writing implements comprising: A VERTICALLY ELONGATED HOLLOW RECTANGULAR CASE OPEN AT ITS TOP END, SAID CASE HAVING FIRST AND SECOND OPPOSITE MAJOR SURFACES WITH A VERTICALLY ELONGATED ZIPPER IN THE FIRST SURFACE TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE INTERIOR OF THE CASE, THE SECOND MAJOR SURFACE HAVING TWO PARALLEL VERTICAL SLOTS SPACED INWARDLY FROM ITS OUTER EDGES, THE CASE BEING ADAPTED TO REMOVABLY RECEIVE A FOLDED PAIR OF EYE GLASSES; MEANS AT THE UPPER END OF THE CASE ADAPTED TO BE DETACHABLY SECURED TO THE WAIST BELT OF A USER WHEREBY THE CASE CAN HANG DOWNWARD THEREFROM, SAID MEANS INCLUDING A BELT ENGAGING HOOK; AND A PAIR OF ADJACENT BUT HORIZONTALLY SPACED VERTICALLY ELONGATED U shaped elements formed from a unitary structure which when attached to said second major surface forms pockets which are closed except for open top and bottom ends, the structure having opposite vertically extending edges which extend through said slots, and then at right angles thereto and parallel to the inside surface of said second major surface to hold the structure in place, the pockets being located on the outside of the second major surface of the case and being adapted to removably receive pens, pencils or other writing implements.
