SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 384,715, dated June 19,1888.

Application filed December 9, 1887. Serial No. 256,792. (No model.)

To aZZ whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, RICHARD A. REIssE,a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis, in theState of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door- Securers; and I do declare the following to be a full,clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it apperlains to make and use the same, reference being had to theaccompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

My improvement in door-securers will first be described in connection with the drawings, and then pointed out in the claim.

Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective view of a door and part of a floor, the securer being folded up; Fig. 2, a similar view of the securer arranged to brace against the door; Fig. 3, a sectional detail View of the securer folded up.

In the drawings, A represents a bracket screwed to the inside of a door, 13, near its lower end. Nearits upper end are the parallel ears I) b, between which is arrangedapivot, O, on which turns one end of the securer D. The latter is made in two parts, (1 d, jointed together at (P, the part d being preferably brought nearly to a sharp edge for the purpose of biting firmly on the floor E.

\Vhen the door is finally closed for the night, the securer is placed as shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings, and in the morning the sheath is slid up on the part d and the part at folded under the part (1, in which position they will be held by gravity, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings.

Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understanding of my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is-

In door securers, the brace D, jointed at d, pivoted to a door-bracket and provided with a sliding sheath, said sheath being pivotally connected with the bracket, and adapted to be used substantially as set forth.
