No. 294,702 2 Claims. (Cl. 128295) This invention relates to a urine receiver and more particularly to a device adapted to be supported on the body of a female child.

An object of the invention is to provide a urine receiver device adapted to fit and seal the area of a female child adjacent the vulva. A further object is to provide. a shape for a urine receiving device that is narrow and small in size to permit positioning between the legs of a female child. Other objects are to provide a sloped bottom shape for the device that will permit the urine to collect at its lowermost point; to provide an aperture opening at the lowermost point to permit all the urine to exit therethrough; to provide a shallow and unimpeded bottom, free of projections so as to avoid hindering the childs normal movements; to provide a removable type of adhesive strip for securing the device to the skin during normal movement; to provide a vent for preventing pressure buildup within the device and to provide a rubber tube and collecting vessel for storing the urine during use of the device.

I accomplished these and other objects and obtain my new results as will be apparent from the device described in the following specification, particularly pointed out in the claims, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:

FIGURE I is a perspective schematic view of the urine receiver device;

FIGURE II is a front schematic view of the same;

FIGURE III is a side schematic view thereof;

FIGURE IV is a rear schematic view;

FIGURE V is a schematic view illustrating the abdomen and legs of a child, seen from the front, with the urine receiver placed in position, the childs body being shown in dotted lines;

FIGURE V1 is a schematic view illustarting the urine receiver device in use with a rubber tube connected thereto to collect the urine in a bottle or other vessel.

The urine receiver device in question is a receptacle R, small and narrow, which is placed between the childs legs with the mouth of the urine receiver B, facing to-. wards the childs vulva.

The edges of mouth B have the same shape as the introductory outline of the outer face of the labia majora of the vulva with the adjacent skin. Therefore, when the receiver is placed in position, its mouth lies in tight seal contact with the skin of the child. When the child urinates, the urine falls into the bottom of the receiver device. The receiver is held in place by means of a removable type adhesive strips capable of retaining the device to the body during normal movement and use similar to an external medical application. The bottom of the receiver is shallow and free of projections, thereby rendering the urine receiver lessbulky and not apt to hinder the normal movements of the child.

3,227,162 Patented Jan. 4, 1966 The bottom of the receiver device is sloped and provided with an aperture P in its lowermost point, through which the urine exits for collection when the child urinates. The sloped bottom allows the urine to emerge totally from the receiver device. The urine is passed from the urine receiver through a rubber tube T, as shown in FIGURE VI, which is connected with the bottom aperture P. The tube terminates in a bottle V or other vessel, from which the urine may be removed.

The receiver has a second aperture P in the central portion of its back wall which serves the function of a vent to connect the inner space of the receiver with the outer space. This vent P is intended to avoid an increase of pressure within the receiver during the childs urination, since if such an increase occurs, the receiver could separate from the skin of the child allowing the urine to spill out through the mouth B of the receiver.

I have thus described my invention, but I desire it understood that it is not confined to the particular form shown and described, the same being merely illustrative, and that the invention may be carried out in other ways without departing from the spirit of my invention.

I claim as follows:

1. A urine receiver to be worn on a female child comprising a small and narrow receptacle for placement between the childs legs and having a receptacle mouth in which the edges possess the same shape as the introductory outline of the outer face of the labia majora of the vulva, and project against the skin forming a tight seal therewith, said receptacle being provided with a shallow, unimpeded, sloped bottom having an aperture at the lowestpoint, terminating in an elongated tube; a collecting vessel attached to the receptacle at the end of the tube; said receptacle provided with a back wall having a central opening positioned above the bottom aperture, said receiver being sufficiently light in weight and small in size to avoid hindering the childs normal movement, and means for attaching the receiver to the childs body during use. a

2. The urine receiver of claim 1, in which the edge of the receptacle mouth is triangular in shape having a rounded substantially horizontal side at the top edge, and said attaching means being a strip of removable adhesive tape.

Claims

1. A URINE RECEIVER TO BE WORN ON A FEMALE CHILD COMPRISING A SMALL AND NARROW RECEPTACLE FOR PLACEMENT BETWEEN THE CHILD''S LEG AND HAVING A RECEPTACLE MOUTH IN WHICH THE EDGES POSSESS THE SAME SHAPE AS THE INTRODUCTORY OUTLINE OF THE OUTER FACE OF THE LABIA MAJORA OF THE VULVA, AND PROJECT AGAINST THE SKIN FORMING A TIGHT SEAL THEREWITH, SAID RECEPTACLE BEING PROVIDED WITH A SHALLOW, UNIMPEDED, SLOPED BOTTOM HAVING AN APERTURE AT THE LOWEST POINT, TERMINATING IN AN ELONGATED TUBE; A COLLECTING VESSEL ATTACHED TO THE RECEPTACLE AT THE END OF THE TUBE; SAID RECEPTACLE PROVIDED WITH A BACK WALL HAVING A CENTRAL OPENING POSITIONED ABOVE THE BOTTOM APERTURE, SAID RECEIVER BEING SUFFICIENTLY LIGHT IN WEIGHT AND SMALL IN SIZE TO AVOID HINDERING THE CHILD''S NORMAL MOVEMENT, AND MEANS FOR ATTACHING THE RECEIVER TO THE CHILD''S BODY DURING USE.
