No. 834,130 4 Claims. ((31. 131187) This invention relates to a cigarette holder, particularly to an antinicotine cigarette holder.

In a known type of an antinicotine cigarette holder the interior needs frequent cleaning, which is a very disagreeable business for the inevitable stench, dirt and bother it gives. Besides, it has the defects that nicotine collecting in the interior, very strong, may be sucked into the mouth, and that the flavor of tobacco is often spoiled.

The object of the present invention is to provide means to remove thoroughly nicotine or tar of a cigarette, to make almost unnecessary the cleaning of the interior of a holder, and to make the flavor of tobacco so much finer.

With this object in view, the present invention provides a cigarette holder, wherein an inner tube not shorter than the center hole of a main pipe, stuifed with certain nicotine-absorbing material and a short tube containing an antiseptic gauze infiltrated with spice, is fitted in the center hole of the main pipe.

According to the present invention the inner tube stuffed with certain nicotine-absorbing material and a short tube containing material infiltrated with spice is not shorter than the center hole of the main pipe and thus the interior of the main pipe, scarcely touched with to bacco smoke, needs scarcely any cleaning but the exchange of the inner tube at certain intervals. Besides, nicotine is removed by the nicotine-absorbing material and the flavor of tobacco gets finer by perfume emitted by the material infiltrated with spice.

Other and the further objects of the present invention will become apparent from the following specification and claims taken together with the accompanying drawings in which is shown the preferred embodiment of the cigarette holder according to the present invention.

In these drawings, reference numeral 11 indicates a main pipe provided with a threaded smaller portion 12 and a projection 13. The mouthpiece end of the main pipe 11 where a conical projection 14 is formed, the head towards the center hole of the main pipe 11, is penetrated by a hole 15 at its center. An inner tube 16 approximately equal in length to the center hole of the main pipe 11 is made of odorless material such as cellophane covered with polyethylene film, and a funnelshaped piece 17 is fitted therein near the mouthpiece end. A dish-shaped metal piece 18 with its rim turned down to form a circular groove 19 and a number of small holes bored at its bottom is fitted onto the other end of the inner tube 16, which, stuffed with a lace 20 of nicotine-absorbing material made of odorless vegetable fiber such as artificial silk and a short tube 21 containing an antiseptic gauze 22 infiltrated with spice, is fitted into the center hole of the main pipe 11 so that the circular groove 19 closely fits on the projection 13 of the main pipe 11. Thus, tobacco smoke scarcely touches the interior of the main pipe 11 and nicotine or tar is removed by the nicotine-absorbing material 20. The nicotine or tar not absorbed by the nicotine-absorbing material 20 is intercepted by the funnel-shaped piece 17 and the conical projection 14, collecting in the grooves formed at their feet.

cap 23 having a cigarette-holding hole 24 and a hole 27 at a partition 26 is screwed on to the threaded smaller portion 12.

The dish-shaped metal piece 18 may be omitted, and the end of the inner tube 16 may be fitted at a base of a conical projection 28 formed at the partition 26 of the cap 23 as shown in FIG. 2.

The cap 23 may be bent so as to make the inclined cigarette holding hole 24, and formed a plane surface 29 at its opposite outer side as shown in FIG. 3. Then, a cigarette being held at an inclined state to the axis of the main pipe 11, never burns the place where the holder is laid.

It is thought that the invention and its advantages will be understood from the foregoing description and it is apparent that various changes may be made in the form, construction and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention or sacrificing its material advantages, the form hereinbefore described and illustrated in the drawings being merely a preferred embodiment thereof.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:

l. A cigarette holder comprising a body portion having a bore axially thereof and a mouthpiece on one end thereof having a projection extending axially of said body and into said bore, said projection having a hole axially therethrough, an inner tubular member of substantially rigid waterproof material removably fitted into said bore and substantially the same length as said bore with one end over said projection and positioned thereby, a short tube mounted within said inner tubular member adjacent said mouthpiece and having a spice impregnated material therein, a mass of nicotine-absorbing vegetable fibers in said tubular member between the end thereof remote from said mouthpiece and said short tube, a retaining means projecting into the end of said tubular member remote from said mouthpiece and retaining said tubular member in position, and a cap having a cigarette holding recess therein on the end of said body portion remote from said mouthpiece.

A cigarette holder comprising a body portion having a bore axially thereof and a mouthpiece on one end thereof having a projection extending axially of said body and into said bore, said projection having a hole axially therethrough, an inner tubular member of substantially rigid waterproof material removably fitted into said bore and substantially the same length as said bore with one end over said projection and positioned thereby, a short tube mounted within said inner tubular member adjacent said mouthpiece and having a spice impregnated material therein, a funnel-shaped member in said inner tubular member between said short tube and said mouthpiece, said funnel-shaped member having an aperture therethrough at the apex thereof and the apex facing said short tube, a mass of nicotine-absorbing vegetable fibers in said tubular member between the end thereof remote from said mouthpiece and said short tube, an apertured cover on said inner tubular member covering the end thereof remote from said mouthpiece and holding said fibers in said tubular members, and a cap having a cigarette holding recess therein on the end of said body portion remote from said mouthpiece.
