The invention also contemplates the bottle holding support to hold sticky and viscous liquids used in cosmotologists parlors, or the like.

One of the objects of the invention is to provide a holder having a comparatively large base which will re? ceive and hold various small bottles used to contain heavy sticky viscous liquids, such as nail polish or coating and the like.

Another object of the invention is to provide a holder having a stable semi-flexible base which will cling to smooth surfaces and a bottle holder on the top side of said base made of pliant flexible material which will receive and resiliently hold various shapes of bottles used in cosmotology and keep them from spilling when desired, or will hold them at an angle so that a brush may be inserted through the neck of the bottle to the bottom in a substantially horizontal direction.

Still another object is to provide a bottle holder having a comparatively hard base of yieldable material and an upright hollow holder on its upper face adapted to re- 7 ceive and hold bottles containing sticky viscous fluids in a manner so that they will not he accidentally upset and also shaped so that the bottles may be held in a vertical position or at any desired angle to the horizontal. to enable the user to have access to fluid substances in the bottom of said bottle.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

I attain the foregoing objects by means of the devices, parts and combinations of parts shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of the bottle holder incorporating my improvements and showing a bottle held in the holding cavity in two positions;

FIGURE 2 is a front elevational view of my bottle holder;

FIGURE 3 is a mid-sectional elevational view of my bottle holder with the bottle shown in place and held in tilted position;

FIGURE 4 is a plan view of the holder shown in FIGURES l and 2.

The bottle holder, as herewith illustrated, is composed of a base 2 which is approximately one-half to elevensixteenths of an inch thick and is oval when viewed from above. This is made of yieldable somewhat pliant material, such as sponge rubber with compressed and firmed outer faces, or the like, and has a roughened lower face 3 to enable it to cling to smooth, slick surfaces.

In the middle of its upper face 4 there is a holding cavity 5 made from a rounded piece or strip 6 of yieldable rubber, vinyl or the like. This holding cavity has a circular shape when viewed from above with a circular opening 7 at the top and basically has the shape of a frustum of a cone. On one side of the top edge, as indicated by numeral 8, a notch is cut into the slanting side 10 of the material forming the cavity.

Since the material is yieldable, bottles of various sizes may be inserted through the top opening 14 and will then rest on the top face 4 of the base and be held in position so they will not spill.

If it is desired to tilt the bottle as is often done when using small quantities of nail polish or lacqueryor similar materials, then the bottle may be held as shown in FIGURE 3 where it is tilted at an angle. The bottle in this case is indicated at B in FIGURE 3. The bottle,

when held vertically, is indicated at A, FIGURE 1. The bottle indicated at A has the shape of a truncated prism. This shape is readily held by the flexible sides 12 of the material forming the'cavity 5. A bottle shown at A in FIGURE 1 may also be tilted if desired with its upper portion inserted into the notch 8. In this position its base or lower part will be adequately gripped and held by the flexible sides of the material forming the cavity and its neck, or upper part, marked A will be held by the edges of the sides of the slot 8. In either case the bottle is held firmly and is sufiiciently secure that the contents will not be spilled by tipping when the cork is removed. Quite often the cork, such as C, is provided with a brush extending axially from its lower face. When the cork is removed this brush is used to apply the liquid contained in the bottle. The holder retains the bottle with an adequately firm grip on the sides of the bottle so that the bottle may remain in the cavity, as a holder, and the cork repeatedly applied to the bottle and removed from it while the brush is inserted and withdrawn from the liquid contents of the bottle.

From the foregoing it will be understood that I have provided a holder which has an adequately firm base and I a bottle holding cavity made from pliant mbber adequately cemented or otherwise attached to the base. The holder is sulficiently flexible to accommodate bottles of various types and also permits all bottles held to be tipped and tilted if desired.

I claim:

l. A bottle holder for bottles containing viscous liquids comprising a semi-flexible base, a strip of yieldable rubber rolled to define the shape of a frustum of a cone having its lower edge attached centrally to said base forming a bottle holding cavity; and having its upper edge adapted to yieldably hold the sides of a bottle placed in said cavity and having a notch to receive and hold the upper part of a bottle which is placed in said cavity.

2. A bottle holder for bottles containing viscous liquids comprising a semi-flexible flat oval base of pliant material; a frusto-conical holder having sides made from thin elastic yieldable material, centrally attached to said base and having a cavity with a circular top opening with a notch on its edge to receive and yieldably hold the upper part of a bottle disposed in said cavity.
