NIGHT-LGHT REFLECTOR.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 27,855, dated April 10, 1860; application for Reissue led November 13, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Jol-IN VYBERD, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Night-Light Reiectors called The Argento-Crystal Dioptric Illuminator; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, forming part of this specification, in the several figures of which similar characters of reference denote the same part. i

The nature of my invention consists 1n suspending over the burner a reiector of octagonal shape composed of series of inclined metallic plates each series decreasing in circumference and placed above each other, and connected by standards of wire or iron, leaving the space between them open for ventilation. The surfaces of the plates are also corrugated so as to assist in diffusing the light.
In the drawing B, B, are the burners, S an ordinary glass shade for mellowing the light, R the reflector composed of the inclined, corrugated, plates p arranged in octagonal shape and connected by standards a, a, leaving the space between them open for ventilation each series or row of plates being smaller in circumference and graduating toward the top, by this means the light is reflectedand diffused through the room.
I disclaim the arrangement of surfaces as described considered as mere ventilators, but claim as new The dome like arrangement of a system of corrugated reflectors with alternate ventilating spaces as set forth.
