UNITED STATES TENT OFFICE 1 Claim. l My invention relates generally to holders for packs of cigarettes and specifically to holders for packs of cigarettes which areattachable to a belt or an article of clothing.
It is among the objects of my invention to provide a holder for a pack of cigarettes which will lprotect the pack of cigarettes and yet make them readily accessible.
It is a further object of my invention to provide a holder for a pack of cigarettes which may be readilyattached to the belt of a person.
A still further object of my invention is to provide a holder for a pack of cigarettes which provides resilient means for clamping the same to a belt.
It is a further object of my invention to provide a holder for a pack of cigarettes which will hold a comb of matches. r
Among the further objects of my invention is to provide a holder for a pack of cigarettes which is simple in form, inexpensive, easy to construct and durable.
These objects and advantages, as well as many other objects and advantages, may be achieved by the device illustrated in the drawings annexed hereto in which:
Figure 1 is a view in perspective of my holder for a pack of cigarettes;
Figure 2 is a plan View of the blank from which my holder for a pack of cigarettes may be formed;
Figure 3 is a side view of my holder for a pack of cigarettes; and
Figure 4 is a rear view of my holder for a pack of cigarettes.
Referring now to Ythe holder for a pack of cigarettes is formed from a metal blank Il. While metal is the material of choice, other materials may be used. It is preferred that whatever material is chosen, that it shall have a resilient characteristic so that the .x
tongue hereinafter referred to may clamp the holder for a pack of cigarettes to the belt of the smoker, or to another portion of his clothing. When this blank II is bent in an appropriate manner, it denes my entire cigarette pack holder. This holder for a pack of cigarettes will have a bottom wall l2. Extending upward from the front of the bottom wall, is a front wall I3. Extending upward from the rear of the bottom wall I2, is a rear wall I Il. Attached to the rear wall at the top thereof, a tongue I5 is formed and extends downward. This tongue is preferred to be resilient so that it may clamp the cigarette pack holder to the belt of the wearer. The end of the tongue I6 may be flared outward slightly for convenience in slipping the tongue over the Wearers belt.
Extending sideways from the rear wall, there is a strap Il. This strap is bent forward to form a left side wall I8. The strap then is bent across drawings in detail, my

There is a slit 23 in the side of the rear wall I4 opposite to the point where the strap il commences. The end 22 of the strap Il? enters the slit 23 and is bent over therein, whereby it frictionally engages the rear wall lll.
It will be seen that the area delineated by the bottom wall I2, front wall i3 and rear wall I f and included within the strap il, is so proportioned as` to dene a seat for a pack of cigarettes 2d. A, book of matches 20 may have its cover slid under the support I9, whereupon it will be held in place` by the support i9 and the front wall I3. The
article so formed defines a convenient holder fora pack of cigarettes and a book of matches which` may be slipped upon the belt of the smoker andVv always presents cigarettes and matches conven-vv iently available. The foregoing being illustrative of a preferred embodiment of my invention; many changes may be made in the: construction, selection and arrangement of the:
various parts, all within the scope of the appended claim without departing from the spirit of the in-l vention.
I claim:
- A holder for a pack of cigarettes comprising a; bottom wall, a front wall attached to the bottom wall at the front thereof and extending upwardly therefrom, a rear wall attached to the bottom wall at the rear thereof therefrom, a resilient and extending upwardly therefrom, a slot in one side of the rear wall; a
strap extending forward then rearwardly and the withy the slot,
means for frictionally engaging the cover of a comb of matches.
