The object of the present invention is to provide a childs garment of unitary structure and which incorporates a jacket and trouser arrangement which may be readily applied and easily removed from the child, which will give excellent weather protection, which will have good appearance with long wear. A further object of the invention is to provide a garment of the class described which will have a two ply formation throughout with the plies specially arranged for ease of manufacture and good appearance.

The invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: I

Referring to Figures 1 to 3 of the drawings, it will be seen that the primary members of the garment consist of an overall formation comprising an integral front leg section I united with a back leg section 2 which extends upwardly to comprise the back covering portion 3a The back covering portion is seamed to front jacket sections 4, and intermediate these sections and the back covering portion 3a are applied sleeve members 5. Connecting and reenforcing the back covering member 3a and the front jacket portions 4 is a collar 6.

Reference to Figures 4 to '7, inclusive, will show how the sections are formed and connected. At this point it may be mentioned that the overall formation represented b the front leg portions l, the back leg portions 2 and the back covering portion 3a may, as customary with overall constructions, be provided with sus'pender straps 1, these straps having at their lower ends snap fastener or other suitable connections for the upward projection of the front pants section I, as is best shown in Fig. 3.

Reference to Fig. 4 will show that the front and leg sections are provided at their outer margins with slide fastener devices, indicated at 8 and that they are provided at their lower ends with knitted or other suitable ankle grips 9 which correspond with the-wrist grips ID at the ends of the sleeves. While these elements are desirable, they are not essential. A single lining construction I5 is employed for both the front and back leg sections and this may consist of a single piece ofmaterial, although in the embodiment shown two pieces of lining are joined by an intermediate seam at H. The piece of material constituting the said lining may extend upwardly and constitute the back covering section 3a, however, it is preferred that a separate liner member 3 constitute the lining for the upper part of the garment to give the interior of the garment a completely finished appearance. Such separate liner member is joined to the lining for the back pants section as at l2. A liner member 15a is provided for the front jacket sections as well as a liner So for the sleeves.

Thejacket sections are provided at their front meeting edges with -eo-acting slide fastening units !3. Except for appearance and added warmth the garment woul be completed at this point. However, a further element is combined therewith, to Wit, a back jacket section M which is seamed to the sleeves and drops down below the waist portion to correspond with the front jacket sections 4. Both the front jacket sections at 4x (see Fig. l) and the rear jacket section l4 may be gathered and held in gathered formation by elastic means [-6 (see Fig. 6), as indicated at I41, Fig.2.

The rear skirt portion of the jacket has a loose draped effect, corresponding with the front of the jacket and desirably terminates in horizontal alignment with the lower edge of the front jacket sections 4.

The garment may be readily applied or removed by disengaging the slide fastener devices and the overall strap 1 so that the garment may be thrown open to the position of Fig. 4, whereupon the placing of the garment on a child is an easy operation and the slide fasteners and overall straps or suspenders may be very quickly engaged. It will be noted that the latter units 1 are integral with the back covering section 3a, and they may be made of strips cut marginally of said back covering section leaving areas of connection therewith at their tops.

By this arrangement and association of parts it will be noted that multi-color combinations may be effected in that all the linin members may be of one colored material, the front and back pant-s sections may be of a different colored material with the overall straps or suspenders of this same colored material due to the fact that these components are formed from the marginal edges of the back covering member 3a. The front jacket sections may be of a colored material the same as or different than the pants sections and finally the back jacket section I4 may be of a colored material to match either the pants sections or the front jacket sections or may be of a still different colored material.

Having described my invention, it will be understood that various modifications may be made in the form and arrangement of the elements constituting the embodiment illustrated without departing from the spirit of the invention. What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, being as follows: 7

1. In a one piece childs garment, the combination of, an overall construction having front and rear sections with each section having two leg portions, said front and rear leg sections being connected at their outer marginal edges by slide fasteners, said rear leg section extending upwardly to form a back covering member, opposed front jacket sections seamed to the back covering section, sleeves seamed intermediate the back covering section and the front jacket sections, two suspender strips cut from the margins of said back covering member and integrally merging at their tops into said back covering member, and an outermost panel superimposed upon the back covering member and having an integral skirt portion terminating in horizontal alignment with said front jacket sections; said outermost panel being seamed to said rear leg sections above a lower margin of said skirt portion and included in the same seams along side marginal edges thereof which seam the back covering member to the opposed front jacket sections.

2. In a one piece childs garment, the combination of, an overall construction having front and rear sections with each section having two leg portions, said front and rear sections being connected at their outer margins by slide fasteners,

said rear section extending upwardly beyond at waist area of the garment to form a back covering member, opposed front jacket sections seamed to the back covering section, sleeves seamed to the back covering section and the front jacket sections, suspender strips cut from margins of the back covering member and integrally merging at their tops into said back covering member, the front section extending upwardly above a waist area of the garment and provided with f astener elements, fastener elements carried, by said suspender strips arranged to be removably secured to said first named fastener elements, :an outermost panel superimposed upon the back covering member and having an integral skirt portion terminating in horizontal alignment with said front jacket sections; said outer-most panel being seamed to said rear leg sections above a lower margin of said jacket portion; side marginal edges of said outermost panel being included in the same seams which scam the back covering member to the opposed front jacket sections, and a lining member seamed to the front and rear sections, back covering member, opposed front jacket sections-and sleeves.
