GASOLINE-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No.'241,501, dated May 17, 1881.

Application-filed August 6, 1879.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE L. MOMILLAN, of Norwalk, in the county of Huron and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gasoline-Stoves, which improvements are fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a gasolinestove having my improvement attached. Fig. 2 represents a removable partition.

This invention relates to gasoline'stoves, and has for its object the production of an improved form of chamber for retaining heat that would otherwise pass off and be wasted, and which is utilized and employed within said chamber, thus constituting a warm-air closet, in which dishes may be placed after cooking to be kept warm, as hereinafter described and claimed.

In the drawings, Arepresents the top plate of a gasoline-stove, and B B the legs or frame which supports the same, together with the burners and pipes leading to the burners.

0 represents a closet, made of tin or other suitable material, which may be attached to top plate, A, or supported on the horizontal pipe D, said pipe being outside. The burners E pass up through holes in the bottom plate of said closet. The ends of the closet are made slanting, the object of which is to narrow the space at the bottom of the closet and cause the greatest quantity of heat to be contained in the upper part. The slanting sides also cause the internal heat to be reflected upward. The front of said closetmay be provided with one or more doors, F, which may be hinged to the lower side, as shown, or in any other suitable way, and provided with a convenient latch or catch for holding it shut.

At times when but one burner is in use a partition, G, may be employed, which can be set between the burners, and thereby separate theburner in use from the others and inclose it in a space by itself. This partition is of inverted- V-shaped form, the two inclined walls of which serve to provide stable bearin g for the partition; but the especial reason of the peculiar form of the removable partition is to cause each of the two divisions of the chamber to be narrow at their lower portions and wide at their upper portions. It is apparent thatin addition to answering the usual purpose of a warmingcloset this chamber guards the dress of attendants from the burners, causes the pipes and the vaporizing-chambers to be maintained atahigh degree of heat, and protects the burners from currents of air.

When desired, the door may be left open, and the chamber will thus materially aid in warming the room.

It should be understood that my invention is restricted to the specific construction represented, inasmuch as heretofore different forms of warming-chambers have been employed for a purpose similar to mine.

Having described my invention, I claim- 1. In a gasoline-stove, the combination, with the top plate, A, and the horizontal longitudinal feedpipe D, of chamber 0, located between said parts, and burner-pipes E, extending up through openings in the chamber-bottom, substantially as set forth.

2. In a gasolinestove, the combination, with top plate, A, end standards, B, and horizontal feed-pipe D, extending between the latter, of chamber 0, located within the space inclosed by said parts, the bottom of the chamber being provided with openings and burner-pipes E,

which pass up through the latter, substantially as set forth.

3. In a gasolinestove, the combination, with top plate, A, end standards, B, and horizontal feed-pipe D, of chamber 0, located within the space inclosed by said part-s, burner-pipes E, and partition G, the sides of the partition and the ends of the chamber being inclined to form division compartments increasing in width from their bottom to their top, substantially as set forth.

4. In a gasoline-stove, the combination, with chamber 0, provided with ends which incline inward from their top to their bottom, of re I movable partition G, made of inverted-V shape and placed loosely within the chamber, substantially as set forth.
