Description

SAFETY RAZOR CASE Filed June 26, 1941 V maxi M Patented Feb. 22, 1944 UNITED STATES ATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in receptacles and more particularly to a case for safety razors.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a case adapted to snugly receive a safety razor, to the end that the razor can be conveniently carried in a personss pocket.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a safety razor case constructed in such a manner as to permit ready access to the razor.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following description.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a front elevational view of the intion.
Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the same.
Figure 3 is a top plan view with the slide cover removed.
Figure 4 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view taken substantially on the line 44 of Figure 2.
Figure 5 is a longitudinal sectional view taken substantially on the line 5-5 of Figure 1.
Figure 6 is a perspective view of the slide cover.
Referring to the drawing wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen in Figures 1 to 6, inclusive, that the invention consists of a tube It closed at its lower end as at l5 and having a flared head It formed with a flared opening l'l therethrough opening through the top of the head and being in communication with the interior of the tube I4. The top of the head It is of rectangular shape with suitable depressions IB' therein to accommodate certain parts of a conventional safety razor and the elongated side portions thereof are formed with channels I8, l8 which receive the inturned longitudinal edge portions IQ of a transversely arcuate-shaped slide cover 20 which may have some spring tendency so that the inturned ends l9, I9 will snugly fit in the channels l8, l8. Obviously, when the razor has been properly set with its handle disposed in the tube M, the cover 20 can be slid over the head of the razor. Furthermore, several blades may be placed in the razor for the purpose of storage, if sufiicient provision for clearance is made in the construction of the cover 20.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, claimed as new is:
A safety razor case comprising an elongated razor handle receiving tube, an enlarged rectangular head at one end of the tube for supporting a razor head and a cover for the head, provided with side channels, said cover having open ends and being provided with inturned side walls slidably disposed in the channels.
