Conway, Williamsport, Pa., assignor to i Professional Merchandise Inc., New York, N. Y., l ma corporationof New York Y l Application November 18, 1935, Serial No. 50,465 3 claims. (C1. S12-62) This invention Vrelates to a dispensing container for housing interlocked sheets in package form and which may be of any selected material where-` hairdressing operation. l With these and other objects in view, 'this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described` and claimed.
` For`a complete understanding of my invention,
reference is to be had to the followingdescriptio and accompanying drawing inwhich Figure l is a perspective view showing the useV of a dispensing container constructed in accordz5 ance with my invention.:
Figure 2 is an end elevation illustrating the container.
Figure 3 is a front elevation illustrating the container.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on the line 4 4 of Figure 3.
Figure 5 is a sectional view taken on the line 5 5 of Figure 3.
Figure 6 is a perspective view illustrating one of n the sheets.
Referring in detail to the drawing, thenumeral I indicates a case, one wall of which is provided with a discharge slot 2. .The opposite side of the closed by a cover 3 hinged to the case, as shown at 4. The inner face of the cover 3 carries a spring 4' to bear` against a package of sheets 5; The sheets are arranged in interlocking relation and are adapted to be pulled one at la, time from the housing by way of the slot 2. AThe sheets may be of any selected material and are placed in the case by opening the cover.
A device of thecharacter described is especially adapted for use by hairdressers and during the use thereof either one of the clamps is applied to a curler 9, the latter having been applied to the hair of a person, as shown in Figure 1. 'The case or housing I thus supported will permit the hairdresser or operator to draw from said case the sheets of material as needed in carrying out the hairdressing operation. Consequently, it will be seen that the operators hands are left free for the hairdressing operation and that the dispensing container is conveniently locatedand in no way interferes with` the comfort of the person having the hair dressed nor does it interfere with the usual operation of the curler.
Having described the invention, I claim:
1. A dispensing container comprising a housing having a slot in one Wall thereof through which `sheets of material may be drawn one at a time, a cover having side flanges which are pivoted to the housing and having an end ange divided from the side flanges for frctionally contacting the housing to close the same and said cover being arranged opposite to said slot, and split resilient clamps on the ends of a plate secured to said cover `and arranged at right angles to one` another whereby the application of either of said clamps to a curler positioned on a person will support the housing.
2. In the art of hairdressing, a dispensing container for housing a supply of interlocked sheets for use by the hairdresser, said container having means Vwhereby the sheets may be dispensed therefrom one at a time, and means mounted on the container for securing it to a hair curler whereby the dispensing container may be supported by a curleron a persons head during the hairdressing operation in positions conveniently accessible for removing the sheets by the hair case I from the slot 2 is fully open and normally dresser during the hairdressing operation.
3. In the art of hairdressing, a dispensing container for-housing a supply of interlocked sheets for use by the hairdresser, said containerhaving a s lot extending through and across its front face centrally thereof through which the sheets `are adapted to extend andbe dispensed therefrom, one at a time, a back cover for closing the dispensing container, means Within said back of the container for maintaining `the supply of sheets in condition for dispensing, and clamping means mounted on the cover for securing the container to a hair curler whereby the dispensing container may be supported by a curler on a persons` head during the hairdressing operation in positions conveniently accessible for removing the sheets by the hairdresser during the hairdressing operation.
