Abstract
A medical glove includes a glove body shaped to wrap a user's hand and a slip prevention part constituted by pieces formed at one side of the glove body to prevent an object gripped by the glove body from slipping. The respective pieces of the slip prevention part are arranged at predetermined intervals so that the user wearing the glove body can perceive the object through spaces. An object being gripped by the medical glove, such as an endoscope device, can be prevented from slipping on or off even when a lubricant is applied to the endoscope device and the medical glove. The medical glove is provided with the slip prevention part directly formed thereon, and any intermediate member for preventing a slip of the object is not necessary. As a result, hygiene in the medical act or the operation of the endoscope device can be improved.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a medical glove, and more particularly, to a medical glove capable of improving convenience in operating medical tools.
- 2. Discussion of the Related Art
- Doctors generally use an endoscope device when examining the internal state of a patient. In other words, doctors examine the patient's large intestine, stomach and so on using an endoscope device.
- Here, when operating the endoscope device, the doctor wears medical gloves and applies lubricant to the medical gloves and the endoscope device for smooth insertion of the endoscope device into the patient's organs such as the large intestine or the stomach.
- Thus wearing the medical gloves applied with the lubricant, the doctor inserts the endoscope device into the patient's body.
- However, according to the above conventional method, there are a few problems as follows.
- Since the medical gloves are applied with the lubricant, the endoscope device may idle or slip on the medical glove and therefore it becomes hard for the doctor to operate the endoscope device.
- To prevent such a slip of the endoscope device on or off the medical gloves caused by the lubricant, a dedicated member, for example, gauze wrapping the endoscope device has been used together. In this case, however, the gauze may adhere to the endoscope device or even get into the patient's body along with the endoscope device.
- Accordingly, the present invention is directed to a medical glove that substantially obviate one or more problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a medical glove capable of preventing a slip of an endoscope device thereon even when the medical glove and the endoscope device are applied with lubricant.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a medical glove capable of improving operational convenience since not requiring a dedicated intermediate member, and preventing contamination thereof.
- Additional advantages, objects, and features of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows and in part will become apparent to those having ordinary skill in the art upon examination of the following or may be learned from practice of the invention. The objectives and other advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by the structure particularly pointed out in the written description and claims hereof as well as the appended drawings.
- To achieve these objects and other advantages and in accordance with the purpose of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, a medical glove comprises a glove body shaped to wrap a user's hand; and a slip prevention part constituted by a plurality of pieces formed at one side of the glove body to prevent an object gripped by the glove body from slipping on or off the glove body, wherein the respective pieces of the slip prevention part are arranged at predetermined intervals so that the user wearing the glove body can perceive the object through spaces among the pieces of the slip prevention part.
- Here, the slip prevention part may be formed at a thumb part and an index finger part of the glove body.
- The slip prevention part may be made of an unwoven fabric.
- The slip prevention part may be made of silicon.
- The slip prevention part may be formed at a middle finger part and a palm part of the glove body.
- As apparent from the above description, in accordance with the medical glove according to the above-described embodiment of the present invention, because a slip prevention part is provided to the medical glove, an endoscope device can be prevented from slipping on or off the medical glove although a lubricant is applied to the endoscope device and the medical glove. Accordingly, more convenient operation of the endoscope device can be achieved. Furthermore, since no intermediate member for preventing slip of the endoscope device is dedicatedly required, hygiene in operation of the endoscope device can be improved.
- It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description of the present invention are exemplary and explanatory and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
- The accompanying drawings, which are included to provide a further understanding of the invention and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this application, illustrate embodiment(s) of the invention and along with the description serve to explain the principle of the invention. In the drawings:

FIG. 1 is a plan view of a medical glove according to a first embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a plan view of a medical glove according to a second embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a plan view of a medical glove according to a third embodiment of the present invention. - Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 throughFIG. 3 , a medical glove according to embodiments of the present invention comprises aglove body 2 configured to wrap a user' hand, and aslip prevention part 4 formed on one side of theglove part 2, being constituted by a plurality of pieces, to prevent an object gripped by the hand wearing the medical glove from slipping on or off the medical glove. - More specifically, as shown in the drawings, the
glove body 2 has a shape of a hand, that is, a general glove shape extending up to a wrist part. Although various materials may be employed for theglove body 2, it is preferred that theglobe body 2 is made of latex in consideration of safety in the medical acts to be performed to human beings and animals. - In addition, the material for the
glove body 2 needs to be in the form of a thin membrane for better perception of the user's hand with respect to the object in contact with the hand through the medium of theglove body 2. That is, a material of general thick rubber gloves is not proper for theglove body 2. - The
slip prevention part 4 is provided on the medical gloves to prevent a slip of the object being picked up or gripped by the user's hand wearing theglove body 2. To this end, theslip prevention part 4 may be formed at positions on theglove body 2 which are actually brought into contact with the object when theglove body 2 grips the object. For example, in case of the object is an endoscope device, theslip prevention part 4 can be formed at athumb part 2 a and anindex finger part 2 b of theglove body 2. - The
slip prevention part 4 may be made of a skidproof material, that is, having a high frictional coefficient, such as silicon. Otherwise, theslip prevention part 4 may be made of an unwoven fabric or a cotton fabric. The reason of using such a rough material for theslip prevention part 4 is to endow theslip prevention part 4 with a frictional force considering that a lubricant is applied to theglove body 2 for more convenient operation especially when the user examines the patient with an endoscope device. - In addition, the reason of using the silicon, unwoven fabric or cotton fabric for the material of the
glove body 2 is to secure safety in use of the medical gloves to a human body. In other words, other materials containing chemical substances that are harmful to the human body or a sandy material cannot be used for the medical gloves. - Meanwhile, instead of separately forming and attaching the
slip prevention part 4 to necessary positions of theglove body 2, it is also possible to make uneven parts (not shown) by deforming theglove body 2 such that the endoscope device does not slip on or off theglove body 2 when theglove body 2 grips the endoscope device. However, it is still preferred that the uneven parts are made of a material having a high frictional coefficient. - Additionally, the
slip prevention part 4 may comprise a plurality of pieces rather than only one part formed on theglove body 2 by a predetermined area. More specifically, as shown inFIG. 1 , theslip prevention part 4 may be formed as the plurality of pieces arranged at predetermined intervals such that a space can be secured for the user to sense the object through theglove body 2. - Here, it is required to minimize the area of the
glove body 2 covered with theslip prevention part 4 so that the user's perception of the object through theglove body 2 is not deteriorated, as long as theslip prevention part 4 can perform its basic function. To this end, it is preferred that a theslip prevention part 4 comprises a lot of small pieces in order to restrain interruption of the user's perception with respect to the object through theglove body 2 while maintaining the basic function. - For example, the
slip prevention part 4 may be formed as a plurality of circular pieces as shown in the drawings. Also, however, it will be surely understood that theslip prevention part 4 may have polygonal shapes. - The
slip prevention part 4 may be concentrated to thethumb part 2 a and theindex finger part 2 b of theglove body 2 because the medical gloves are usually used for medical acts and operation of medial tools, in other words, the user's thumb and index finger are most frequently used during the medical acts or operation. - As shown in
FIG. 2 , if necessary, theslip prevention part 4 may be extended up to amiddle finger part 2 c of theglove body 2. Theslip prevention part 4 may be formed at a part or the whole part of the palm of theglove body 2 in order to secure the frictional force through a larger area. As shown inFIG. 3 , therefore, theslip prevention part 4 may be formed throughout theglove body 2. - Hereinafter, the operation of the medical glove having the above described structure will be described in detail.
- Presuming that the user performs a medical act, for example, examines a patient using an endoscope device, the user puts on the medical glove and applies the lubricant to the whole surface of the
glove body 2. - Here, the lubricant is applied to the endoscope device and the medical glove such that the endoscope device can be smoothly inserted and moved through the patient's mouth and gullet, or the anus and the large intestine.
- While inserting the endoscope device into the patient's body, the user may rotate the endoscope device to photograph the internal organs of the patient or additionally inject medicine in the patient's body through the endoscope device.
- Like this, when the user has to take another act while inserting the endoscope device into the patient's body, the
slip prevention part 4 formed on the medical glove helps the user stably perform the act in spite of the lubricant applied throughout theglove body 2 of the medical glove. - Especially when operating the endoscope device, the user mainly uses the
thumb part 2 a and theindex finger part 2 b. Therefore, theslip prevention part 4 is concentratively formed at thethumb part 2 a and theindex finger part 2 b so that the object such as the endoscope device can be prevented from slipping on or off the medical glove, and the contacting area between the user's hand and the object through theglove body 2 can be maximized. - As can be appreciated from the above description, the medical gloves according to the embodiments of the present invention have advantages as follows.
- Since a slip prevention part is prepared, an object being gripped by the medical glove, such as an endoscope device, can be prevented from slipping on or off the medical glove even when a lubricant is applied to the endoscope device and the medical glove. Accordingly, the user is able to operate the endoscope device more conveniently.
- In addition, the medical glove is provided with the slip prevention part directly formed thereon, any intermediate member for preventing a slip of the object is not necessary. As a result, the medical act or the operation of the endoscope device can be performed more hygienically.
- It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the inventions. Thus, it is intended that the present invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
Claims (5)
1. A medical glove comprising:
a glove body shaped to wrap a user's hand; and
a slip prevention part constituted by a plurality of pieces formed at one side of the glove body to prevent an object gripped by the glove body from slipping on or off the glove body,
wherein the respective pieces of the slip prevention part are arranged at predetermined intervals so that the user wearing the glove body can perceive the object through spaces among the pieces of the slip prevention part.
2. The medical glove according to claim 1 , wherein the slip prevention part is formed at a thumb part and an index finger part of the glove body.
3. The medical glove according to claim 1 , wherein the slip prevention part is made of an unwoven fabric.
4. The medical glove according to claim 1 , wherein the slip prevention part is made of silicon.
5. The medical glove according to claim 1 , wherein the slip prevention part is formed at a middle finger part and a palm part of the glove body.
