Abstract
The invention relates to projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges and propellant cartridges containing at least one agent which is perceived, essentially, in an unknown manner. According to the invention, known substances such as pheromones can be used as said agent.
Description
- The subject matter of the invention is projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges and propellant cartridges.
- Lead-free and barium-free ignition compositions having initiating explosives mixed with oxygen-yielding substances, which further contain sensitizers, reducing agents, frictional agents, secondary explosives and/or inert substances, are known from DE 195 40 278 A1. The inert substances are selected from, for example, binding agents, adhesives, dyes, passivating agents and/or agents for odour-characterisation, in particular in a proportion of 0 to 20% by weight relative to the total mixture. Vanillin is preferably used as an agent for odour-characterisation.
- In Example 1 of DE 195 40 278 A1 an agent for odour-characterization is inserted into the lacquer coating of the ignition composition.
- All agents that were used previously can be perceived consciously. Projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges or propellant cartridges that contain means which are perceived in a substantially subliminal manner are not known.
- The object of the present invention therefore consists in providing projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges and propellant cartridges that contain agents which are perceived in a substantially subliminal manner.
- In accordance with the invention all active substances that are known as pheromones can basically be used as the agents. Pheromones, also called ectohormones or social hormones, are substances that are produced by animals and by man and which, given off outwardly, affect the metabolism and behaviour of other individuals of the same type. Pheromones are picked up by olfactory or gustatory organs and are effective as hormones in the smallest concentrations. Mixtures of the individual active substances can also be used in accordance with the invention.
- In a first embodiment of the present invention, the afore-mentioned object is achieved by means of projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges and propellant cartridges that are characterised in that they contain at least one agent that is defined in accordance with the invention. In this connection, it is possible for the propellant charge, the ignition agent or the lacquer coating of the ignition agent to contain such an agent. A further possibility lies in adding the agent that can be used in accordance with the invention as an additional charge, preferably in the form of microcapsules, to the projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges or propellant cartridges.
- The agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can be added in quantities of 0,001 to 10% by weight, in particular in quantities of 0.1 to 1% by weight.
- The agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can be incorporated during the powder-production or the lacquer-production. In this respect, it is possible to apply the same techniques that are known in the art in order to bind in plasticizers, stabilizers or other inert; stances into the propellant-charge powders or to apply lacquer coatings Triturations with a solid carrier that contain the agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can be added, for example, to the propellant-charge powder or to the lacquer coating of the ignition agent. Solutions of the agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can be adsorbed, for example, in kieselguhr before they are introduced in accordance with the invention.
- Furthermore, it is possible to replace irritants that are known in the case of irritant cartridges with the agents that can be used in accordance with the invention.
- The agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can also be applied to the covering of the powder age or of the composition.
- When in micro-encapsulated form all kinds of agents that can be used in accordance with the invention can be added to the propellant-charge powder, the lacquer coating or to the ignition composition regardless of comatibility, with these either being applied separately or else incorporated. In this connection, it should be ensured that the microcapsules burst open or burn of t as late as possible when the shot is produced so that the agents are only exposed to the gases of the shot for a short time.
- Of course, it should be guaranteed in all cases that when the shot gases act on the agents no reaction products are formed that are detrimental to health.
- Aside from the agents that can be used in accordance with the invention, the further constituents of the projectile cartridges, explosive cartridges and propellant cartridges do not differ from the constituents of usual projectile cartridges, cartridges or propellant cartridges of the prior art.
