Description
H. NYVALL. Mosquito-Net Frame.
Patented Jan. 22, 1878 7 26 I VENTO;% %4 ATTORNEYS N.FETERS. PHOTO-LITHOGRAFHER, WASHINGTON. D C.
UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIcE.
HJALMAR NYVALL, OF OHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE.
IMPROVEMENT IN MO SQUlTO-NET FRAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 199,666, dated January 22, 1878; application filed December 18, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HJALMAR NYVALL, of Chattanooga, in the county of Hamilton and in the State of Tennessee, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in MosquitoNet Frames and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a mosquitonet frame, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth. p
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of my frame for mosquito-nets, and Fig. 2 is a section of the same.
A represents a short center post formed near its lower end with a shoulder or offset, a, and at the top it has a hook, b, as shown, to suspend the same from the ceiling. D represents a piece of leather cut in circular form, with a series of radial arms, D D, extending from it at equal distances apart. The leather piece I) is also cut with a round hole in the center to pass over the center-post A. The piece D,
with its arms D, is all cut in one piece, and forms the hinge for the arms B B of the mosquito-net frame.
The hinge-arms D are fastened by screws, nails, or other suitable means, to the upper edges of the arms B at their inner ends in such a manner that, when spread out, as shown in the drawing, the inner ends of said arms will rest upon the shoulder a of the post A.
The outer ends of the arms B are connected by a cord, d. This forms a frame for supporting a mosquito-net, and such frame, whennot desired for use, can be folded and put away in small compass.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a mosquito-net frame, the leather hinge,
formed of the circular piece D, with radial arms D, all cut in one piece, in combination with the center post A, having shoulder a, and the arms B, connnected at their outer ends by the cord h, all substantially as herein set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 16th day of November, 187 7 H. NYVALL. Witnesses:
J FERNQUIST, L. B. HEADRICK.
