GARMENT Filed May l, 1954 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 nvenlor Bp flllorney Patented Dec. 1l, 1934 n UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to a garment which is mainly designed for children, the general object of the invention being to provide a blouse and pants, with buttons for connecting the two parts together and a belt passing around the junction of the blouse with the pants, and means whereby the top rear portion of the pants. can be dropped without removing the belt.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompany drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is a rear view of the garment.
Figure 2 is a similar View, with the upper rear portion of the pants in lowered position.
Figure 3 is a section on line 3--3 of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a fragmentary view of one side of the garment, showing the V-shaped opening unfastened and the belt partly released.
In these drawings, the letter A indicates the blouse and the letter B the pants. The lower part of the blouse carries the buttons 1 for engaging the buttonholes 2 in the top part of the pants. A vertically arranged slit or opening 3 is formed at each side of the top part of the pants and.
A number of loop forming straps 5 is connected with the upper portion of the trousers or pants for receiving the belt 6, the front of which is provided with any suitable means for fastening the two ends of the belt together,` and all of the straps, at the rear of the garment, between the two openings 3, have their upper ends detachably connected to the inner face of the top part of the garment by the snap fasteners 7, as shown in Figure 3, so that by releasing the fasteners, the rear straps will release the rear part of the belt and then by unfastening the rear buttons and the buttons at the sides which hold the openings 3 closed, the rear portion of the trousers or pants can be dropped, as shown in Figure 2, without entirely removing the belt fromthe garment.
Thus it will be seen that I have provided an attractive two-piece garment including a blouse and pants, with buttons for connecting the two parts together and a belt for hiding the point of connection of the two parts, with means whereby the rear part of the pants can be readily dropped without removing the belt.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
What is claimed is:
1. A garment of the class described comprising a blouse and pants, said pants having buttonholes in the top thereof, buttons on the lower part of the blouse adapted to pass through the holes for detachably connecting the blouse to the pants, said pants having an opening in each side at the top thereof, some of the buttons and the holes acting to close said openings, a belt, loops at the top of the pants through which the belt passes, and means for 'detachably connecting portions of the rear loops to the pants to permit the rear part of the pants to be dropped without removing the belt.
2. A garment of the class described comprising a blouse and pants, said pants having buttonholes in the top thereof, buttons on the lower part of the blouse adapted to pass through the holes for detachably connecting the blouse to the pants, said pants havingan opening in each side thereof at the top, some of the buttons and the holes acting to close said openings, a belt, loops carried by the upper part of the pants through which the belt passes, and snap fasteners for connecting the upper ends of the loops at the rear of the pants to the upperportion of the inner part of the rear of the pants for permitting the rear of the belt to release from the rear of the pants when the top rear portion ofthe pants is to be dropped.
