This invention relates to an anti-leak construction for walls whereby water is prevented from flowing between walls, and thence into the rooms or space below the wall.
An object of my invention is to provide a novel means for deflecting water which may flow between the inner and outer walls of a building, due to a crack or faulty construction in the outer wall.
This invention is particularly applicable to pent-houses, to upper stories in a building, although it may also be applied to the lower stories of a building, if desired.
Another object is to provide a novel wall construction in which the deflecting board is readily attainable, if it is necessary to recover the board with water proof material or for other repair purposes.
Still another object is to provide a novel construction of the character stated in which all water which may flow between the inner and outer walls is caught and drained on to the roof.
Other objects, advantages and features of invention may appear from the accompanying drawing, the subjoined detailed description and the appended claims.

Figure 2 is a sectional view, taken on line 22 of Figure 1. Referring more particularly to the draw- J ing, the numeral 1 indicates the inner wall,
and 2 the outer wall. The outer wall terminates above the roof 3, and the purpose oi this arrangement will be further described. The usual studding 4 is provided for the purpose of supporting the walls and the roof structure. I have found, that due to the cracks in the outer wall and also because of faulty construction around windows and doors, that water will seep through the wall and will flow downwardly between the outer and inner walls and thence on to the ceiling or walls of the floor below. To catch any water which may flow between the walls Il-2, l 51') provide an inclined board 5 which extends 1932. Serial No. 623,054.

A water prooi covering 6 covers the board and extends out ug'ion the roof. ihe upper edge of this covering is securely sealed to the inner face of the wall 1, and the side edges of this covering are sealed to the studding 4l l. The edges of the covering are preferably bent upwardly and cemented to the studding and the inner wall. A horizontal cover board 7 is removably attached to the studding 4 l, and this board iits below the wall 2. A. slot 8 is provided below the board 7 so that water can readily drain off of the inclined board 5 and thence on to the roof.
A metal sheathing 9 fits over the wall. 2 and over the top of the board 7 to prevent a leak from occurring at the top of said board. It will be evident that any water which might pass through the outer wall 2 and drain downwardly will be caught on the inclined board 5, and will be then drained out upon the roof through the slot 8. If it becomes necessary to repair the covering 6 or the board 5, the cover board 7 can be easily removed and the space between the walls is thus uncovered so that a workman can easily reach the board 5 and repair the necessary part.
Having described my invention, I claim:
1. In a building comprising inner and out-er spaced walls, an anti-leak construction comprising deflection means arranged between said inner and outer walls whereby water is drained from between said walls.
2. In a building comprising inner and outer walls, an anti-leak construction comprising an inclined board extending between said inner and outer walls.
3. In a building comprising inner and out r walls, an anti-leak construction comprising an inclined board extending between said inner and outer walls, and a cover board attached to said outer wall and enclosing said first named board.
4. In a building comprising inner and outer walls, and spaced studding, and anti-leak construction comprising an inclined board between the inner and outer walls and between 190 said studding, said board inclining towards the outer wall.
5. In a building comprising inner and outer walls, and spaced studding, and anti-leak 5 construction comprising an inclined board between the inner and outer walls and between said studding, said board inclining t0- wards the outer wall, a water proof covering over said board, said outer wall having a slot formed therein through which water is adapted to drain.
6. In a building comprising inner and outer walls and spaced studding, and anti-leak construction comprising an inclined board between the inner and outer walls and between said studding, said board inclining towards the outer wall, a water proof covering over said board said outer wall having a slot formed therein through which water is 29 adapted to drain, and a cover board on the outer wall of said cover board inclosing the first named board.
