Specification forming part of-Letters Patent No. 180,613, dated August 1, 1876; application filed June 15, 1576.
panying drawing, forming part of this speci! tication, in Which- The object of my invention is the construe.
tion of a device for holding dolls in an upright or standing position 5 and it consists of a metallic ring or girdle, to surround the waistof the doll, attached to legs made of stout Wire, with their lower ends bent outward, and tlattened to form feet. The girdle is closed upon the waist of the doll by means of a string or pin passing through opposing holes in its ends, which are free. By means of these holes, the device is rendered adjustable to dolls of different sizes. Attached to the rear ot' the girdle is an upright 'back piece or support, provided with holesthrough which strings are passed, and tied over the breast of the doll. In place of these strings rubber bands may be slipped over both the doll and back-support.
In the drawing, A represents my invention, of which B B are the wire legs xed above to the Waist ring or girdle C, and having their lower ends bent outward, and flattened to form feet. The metallic ring or girdle C surrounds the Waist of the doll, and has its ends free and provided with various holes c c, through any two opposing ones of which a string is passed and tied on the outer side, thus making the device adjustable to dolls of different siz'es. In place of the string, a securing-pin may be passed through any two opposing holes. D is the back piece lor support fixed to the rear of the girdle, and provided with the holes d d, through which pass strings E E, that are tied over the breast of the doll. These strings secure the doll in place in the device, with its back resting against the support D. In place of the strings E E, rubber bands may be pieces or supports D, provided with the holes d d, and combined with the girdle C and legs B B, substantially as and for the purpose herein set forth.
The above specification of my invention, signed by me this 10th day of June, 1876.
