Arranged for lateral adjustment 'on the beam 1, between the pivotally supported rack and the inner end of the tongue there is a mount for the front furrow wheel 27 of the f improvement. The furrow wheel 27 is journaled on the usual axle 28 which is provided with an upstanding stem 29. This stem asses through the opening in a boss or enargement inone end of av slotted plate 30 that is arranged in parallelism with the hori- Zontal, portion 28 of the axle and passing through the beam and through the slot of the plate 30 there are binding means which are in the nature of bolts 31 that are engaged by suitable nuts. By this arrangement it will be seen that the furrow wheel 27 may be longitudinally adjusted with respect to the beam y l. The stem or standard 29 has arranged for vertical adjustment thereon alu or vfinger 32. A binding element 33 passes t rough the said lug or finger and frictionally engages with the stem 29. VThe lug or linger has pivotally secured thereto the bifurcated end of ai rod 34, the second end ofthe rod being pivotally connected, at 35, to the lever 21.
The rod 34 is also made up of at least twoy Sections whose ends are provided with oppositely hand pitched threads which are engaged by a turn buckle 36.
.l The rear furrow wheel of the' improvement is indicated by the numeral 37 ,the mount therefor being in the nature of a crank stem. The' vertical arm 39 for the mount vpasses through a suitable bearing opening in the rear of the beam 1. Suitable means is provided for holding the arm or standard V39 fromlongitudinal movement through the beam 1 and this means may also provide for the vertical adjustment of the said standard throughgthe said beam 1. ' Mounted kfor vert-ical adjustment on the standard 39 there is a lug or linger40. VAbindillg element 41 passes through the lug or fn- 'ger and contacts with the standard 39. The lug or finger has pivotally secured thereto one end of a rod 42. The second end of this rod is pivoted, as at 43, to the rack 19 at approximately the juncture of the said rod with the arm 18.- The rod 42 is made up of at least two sections which have oppositely hand pitched threaded ends which are engaged 'by a turn buckle 44. i
By bringing the dog 22 out of the teeth of the rack 19 and by swinging the lever 21 on its pivot 2,0 a longitudinal movement will be imparted to the rod 34 which will cause the furrow wheel 27 to turn with the stem 29 so that' parta longitudinal movement to the rods 23,.
34 and 42 and thereby simultaneously swinging the tongue 5 and turning the furrow wheels 27 and 37. By arranging the slotted plate 30 onthe vertical stem 29 on the axle 28 it will be apparent thatthe furrow Wheel 27 may be adjusted toward or .away from the beam 1v so that the wheel 27 will properly travel in thefurrow therefor. In Figures 5,6 and 7 I have illustrated a slight modification, the f eaturesofdistinction being that all of the rods are'maintained at the same plane which is not true 'with respect to the construction previously` described. On the plow beam 15 I tix the straight end of an offset plate 46. To the upper end of the plate 46 I pivot, as at 47,the arm 48 of a segmental rack 49, the said pivot also connecting the plate With'alever 50. Thev lever is provided with a spring inuenced handle operated dog 51 to engagewith the rack 4,9. The lever, in a 'line with the rack 49, has pivoted thereto an adjustable rod 52 whose outer end is connected with the mount for the front-furrow wheel, the rack at the center thereof having pivotally connected thereto an adjustable rod 53 which is connected with the mount for the rearifurrow wheel. The lower end of the arm 48 has pivotally connected thereto an adjustable rod 53 which is connected to the pivot for the tongue ofthe implement. The operation of this construction is precisely similar to that previously described. Y y It is believed that when the foregoing description has beenk carefully read in connection with the accompanying drawings the simplicity and advantages of my improvement will be understood and appreciated by kthose skilled in the art. Obviously I do not wish to be restricted to the precise details herein set forth and, therefore, hold myself entitled to make suchchanges therefrom as fairly fall within the scope of what I claim.
Having described the inventioml claim: A tlmee wheeled plowv whichincludes a ground wheel and front .and reary furrow Wheels, and a tongue which is pivotally secured to the beam of the plow, thefpivot for the tongue having a square` stem extension, a finger adj ustably secured on said stem, a rod pivotally secured to the said finger, a toothed segment having a depending arm which is pivoted to the plow beam, a lever pivoted to the arm and which pivot connects the rod to thellever and arm, a spring influencedy dog iao carried by the lever to engage the rack, an angle shaft for the front furrow wheel', a slotted plate through which the'vertioal `stem of the shaft asses and ywhich is adjustably `secured to tlle plow beam, a finger adjustably secured on the vertical stem of the shaft, a rod pivotecl to the Enger and pvoted to the lever,
an angle axle for the rear furrow wheel hav! ing its vertical member journaled through the beam, and an adjustable finger on said vert j 'cal member and a rod pvotally connected to the linger and pvotally con'necteclto the rack.' l
