The leaf spring 12 is shown integrally secured to a fiat closed loop member 14* having .an opening 15. ' The clip is susceptible to modification in various respects without departing from the scope of the invention asdefined in the following claims. What I, claim is:

1. The combination with a tubular body, of aclip comprising a tongue and a reinforcing member in" engagement therewith, one end of said reinforcing member being secured to said tubular body and the other end being free toslide on said tongue, and means encircling said tubular body for securing said'tongue thereto.

2. Thecombinationwith a tubular body, of a-clip' comprising a resilient tongue and I a reinforcing member in slidable engage- V ment therewith, means for securing said c a: tongue to said tubular body, and means encirclingsaid tubular bodyfor securing said reinforc ng member thereto. l

3. A garment-grlppmg clip for writing tools comprising in combination, a flat closed loop member through which the tool is adapted to extend, and a garmentrengaging tong pr je ting from one side of said mamher and bent downwardly with respect thereto. r

4. A garment-gripping clip for writing tools comprising in combination, a flat closed loop member through which the tool is adapted to extend, a garment-engaging tongue projecting from one side of said memher and bent downwardly with respect there- 'to, a second flat closed loop member adapted to superimpose upon said first named'memher and throughwhich the tool is adapted to extend, a leaf spring portion projecting from oneside of said second member and bent downwardly with respect thereto to engage said tongue substantially throughout the length of the latter. 1 7

12. A clip comprising a fiat loop adapted to be fitted unto a tubular body, and a tongue integral with said loop projecting therefrom tangentiallyto the plane thereof and bent downwardly with respect thereto.

A clip comprising two superimposed flat loops adapted to be fitted unto a tubular body, a tongue projecting from each loop tangentially to the plane thereof and bent downwardly with respect thereto, said two I tongues being also superimposed, and means for preventing relat ve lateral motlon of said tongues.

15. A clip comprising a fiat loop adapted to be fitted unto a tubular body, a tongue in tegral with said loop projecting therefrom tangentially to the plane thereofiand a corrugation in said tongue substantially the entire length thereof, the convex side of said corrugation being towards said loop.

16. A clip comprising two superimposed fiat loops adapted to be fittedunto a tubular body, a tongue for each 'loopintegral therewithprojecting therefrom tangentially to the plane thereof and bent downwardly with respect thereto, and a corrugation in one'of 7 said-tongues substantially the entire length thereof, the other tongue being disposed or within said corrugation.
