IMPROVEMENT IN TOY PISTOLS.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, OTTO G. BUTTERWEOK, Of the city and county Of St. Louis and State of. Missouri, have invented a new and Improved Toy Pistol; and I do hereby declare that the following is ya full, clear, and exact description Ot' the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in whichv Figure 1 ,is a side elevation; Fig. '.2, a"

wherein a marble is forced out of a tube by a piston impelled with considerable striking force by a rear spring that acts upon the piston-rod, as shown, as the latter is lifted by a trigger; also, specially, in the mode Of combining a' piston-rod, spring, and trigger.

The latter is prevented from rolling out at the mouth by a light side spring, G, no detent being required in its rear, as it is always inclined downward when the boy is aiming at a marble on the ground.

It is found in practicenot only to remedy the uncleanliness Of the old method of shooting marbles from the space between thumb and foretinger, but greatly tO increase the sport and add to the enjoyment of the game.

Having thus described myrinvention, what I claim as new is- A toy pistol, having a piston-rod, B', guidehanger, O, a disk or projection, b3, a trigger, F, and a plate or rod spring, D, all constructed and arranged v tO operate substantially as shown and described.
