Referring to the drawings and particularly to Figures'l to 4-, 1O denotes a tubular base support and 11 a tubular stem adjustable in said base. The stem 11 may be of any convenient length, preferably reaching an, elevation well above the seat of a dental chair, for instance. An elbow 12 is carried by the upper end, and supports a lateral yoke portion 13 between the parallel arms 1 1 of which fibre washers 15 are arranged, the latter ems bracing the shank 16 of'a union 17. From the opposite side of. the union, projects an upright shank 18 which is therefore disposed at right angles to the shank '16 and receives-the yoke portion .19 of a tubular member 20. Similar fibre washers are disposed between the yoke portion 19 and interposed shank 18. Both of the yoke portions 13 and 19 andtheir respective shanks 16 and 18 are pivotally con nected by means of bolts 21. j The tubular member 20 is open at its outer end anda stub v out in the periphery oi'theostub pin an, This constructioirwill enable the pin 22 to rotate without becoming detached from the tubular member 2Q. Then the light casing 37 is on the horizontal plane, shown in Figure 2, the pins 46 are disposed in the lOW end of the openingsor slots 42 and as the cone shaped cam 32 is vvithdravvn outyvardly the rods 43 follow inwardly and toivards the center of the honsing 26. This operation causes the pins 46 to 'ride upwardly in the slots42and consequently rock the light casing 37 about its pivotal support in the yoke member 36. Since each light depends upon the cam 32 to enable the individual springs 47 to act upon the rods 43, the relative movement of each light Will be exactly the same. .Then, at a mid point- Where the axis of the light intersect a highly illuminated disc of light will appear upon any object upon Which the disc of light is focused.
The control for any movement of the lighting fixture including the focusing device, comprises. a collar 50 which may be attached to anyone of the extension tubes 34, and Which is provided with aprojection and stub-bearing pin 51.- Rotatably mounted on the pin 51 is a handle 52 having a grip 53 at its outer free end and a sprocket Wheel 54 at the inner end adj acent the collar 50. The sprockets 54 and 33 are aligned to receive an endless sprocket chain 5. It will be clear that any rotary adjustment of the handle 52 will impart an axial movement to the shaft 31 thereby changing the position of the cam. 32 as already explained. Simultaneously \vith'this rotary adjustment, the handle may be made to move the entire fixture and consequently regulate the intersecting axis of the lights at any convenient location.
3 Referring now to the modified embodiment of my invention, illustrated particularly in Figures 5 and 6, it will be clear that-the mechanism at the outer ends 'ofthe extensions is identical with that used in connection With the preferred 01m, except that the connection 45 is provided at its inner end with a cylindrical portion 56 having a threaded bore 57 to receive the threaded end of a rod 58 projecting through the extension tube 34. It is intended, according to this construe tion, that the normally upright extension tubes ,34 will remain permanent and in that case the rod 58 Will extend through two extensions. A housing 59 supports the extensions 34 and is provided With detachable side cover plates 60 which may carry a second pair of extension tubes 34, projecting at right angles to and on the same plane With the upright pair. order to impart axial 1noven'1e'nt to the cylindrical portions 56 at the ends 'of the exten sions, the rods 58 and 63 arerotated through their miter gear eonnectionswith the upright rod 58, which is rotated by a handle cf'o'nncction similar to that already described in connection with the preferred forni, ,that is in so far as the mounting and rotary shaft 51 is concerned, but in the modified embodiment the shaft 51 is offset to one side of the ex tension 34 and'carries a pinion gear 64 in mesh With a pinion gear 65 fixed on the rod or shaft 58. It ivill be clear that in either embodiment of my invention the two horizontal extensions and their lights be removed by simply detaching the extensions from thehousin-gs and substituting for the cover plates other plates which do not include the projections for receiving the extensions.
The operation of the device is substantially as follows: i
It will be assumed for the present purpose that the fixture is arranged Within easy reach of a dentist who has a patient seated in the usual dental chair with the head tilted back to bring the mouth in correct 'positi'on- The handle 52 is rotated by one hand of the dentist until all of the lights are directed approximately towards a common center The fixture as a Whole is then tilted about its universal connectionby bearing, in. the desired direction, upon the handle. Further rotary adjustment of the handle should then bring the discs of light from each light into register,'all of which Will result in a plurality of disc-shaped illuminated 'spotssup'erposed in the mouth of the patient. It will be clear that since the light rays are directed from more than one an'gle, the month Willstill remain illuminated in the event that an object obstructs one of the light sources.

A lighting fixture of the character de-' scribed, comprising aplurality of adjustable spot lights arranged as a unit, means for simultaneously adjusting said spot lights towards a relatively close common center, means mounted for rotary adjustment and for supporting said unit, and universal connecting means between the unit and supportlngy means. j

A lightingfixture of the character described comprising a housing mounted for rotary adjustment, a plurality of ad justable spot lights carried by and spaced from the housing, means for adjusting said spot lights towards or away from a relatively close common center, and a supporting frame for said hous1ng,compr1smg a collapsible column, and a universal connection for one endof said column connected With said fixture.
4. In a lighting fixture of the character described, the combination of a supporting frame, a housing mounted for rotary adjustment on said frame, radially disposed members carried by said housing, adjustably mounted spotlights carried by said members, I

In a lighting fixtureof the character described, the combination of a supporting frame, a universal unit atthe endthereof, a housingcarried by said unit, radial extensions for said housing, adjustable spot lights for said extensions, means disposed in said housing and operatively connected to said lights for imparting simultaneous adjustment to each light, and a handle control attached to one extension and operatively connected to said last named means.
