Application med March 11, `'1925. serial No. 14,719.
This invention relates to a hosesupporter.
The object ot the invention is the production of a hose supporter or garter, bypmeans oiE which it can be easily Vand securely suspended from a garment and to which, hose, stockings and the like 'can be easily attached. The sec-v to a stud frame Ior stud plate, tor a'tapered stud that is adapted to lock withv the loop ot a clasp. Y
In the accompanying drawings Fig. 1 represents a front elevation of the improvedv hose supporter suspended from a garment; Fig. 2 shows a section of F lion the broken line 2, 2; 3 is an enlarged view of a modification of the hosesupporter; Fig. 4 indicates a section of Fig. 3 on the broken line 4,4; Fig. 5 represents a plan View of a detail and Fig. 6 is a left hand side view of Fig. 5.
The main strap 20 of the hose supporter preferably comprises a piece of webbing, at
the upper end of which is indicated an ordithe lower member 27 of the clevis. l shaped clamping bracket 32 with its serrated nary safety pin with its bar 21, pin proper 22 and its keeper 23." A clevis is indicated with its lower member 27 and the hook ends 28. The said hook ends are suspended from the pin 22.v At the upper end of the strap 20 is formed the loop 30, which extends velij lower edges 33 is clamped over the loop 30 with its serrated edges engaging the opposite iaces ofv the strap 20. A garment is indicated at 38 with the depending strap 39 that has formed therewith the loop 40 at-its lower end for supporting the bar 21 of the safety pin. lA button 41 is connected to the strap 39, by means of the heavy tread orfcord 42. A strap with the members 44 and 45 extends over the cord 42 and said members have. Jformed'at their lower ends loops 46, which latter extend Varound the pin 22.A Eyelets 47 clamp each `of the ends of the loops 46, and the members 44 and' 45. A U shaped clamping bracket 49 Vwith the serrated ends 50, clamps the loops 46 to the pin 22.y
ably clamped a buckle 53, comprising therear plate 54 with the opening 55. Ears 56 extend from. the plate 54. A wing 58'ishinged to the ears 56.-V A loop 60 with the upwardly To the lower end of the strap'20 is detachextending member 61 is formed at the Vlower end of the strap 20. i
AA lower strap `extends through the opening 55 of the buckle 53 and is sho-wn with the pair ofmembers 66 andv 67. The members-61,66 and c 67 'are connected together by the leyevlets68. v
To the lower end oteach of the members 1 66 and 67 of the lower strap is connected a clasp, designated in its'e'ntirety bythe numeral 70. Each clasp 7 O comprises. the usual i lower loop 71 with the curved lower end 72, the upper loop 73 with the bar 74. The lower ends of each of the straps 66 and 67 extend through the upper loop 73 and have formed therewith a loop 75 with the-upwardly ex- A' tending member 76. The upper end 79 ot a strap-80 is llocatedbetweenthe member 76 and its strap 66 yor 67, and eyelets 81 clamp together the straps 66 andf67,` the ends'79,
and the members 76 adjacent thereto.
A stud frame designated in its entirety by the numeral is supported inthe lower end of each of the straps 80. Each of the frames 85 comprises the central body portion 86 which hasl formed therewith the` annular loops 87, forming the openings 88 and 89. A
thimble 90 with the end flanges 91' and 92 extends from the frame 85 and through the opening 93 in the central portion 86 thereof. A tapered stud95 is supported on the thimble 90. The smaller end of the stud 95 bears against the central body portion 86 of the' frame 85, and a washer 96 is located between the upper end of the stud 95 and the flange 91.
Each of. the straps 80 extends through the opening'88 of its stud Jframe, then extends through its other opening 89y thereof.
members ofthe lower strap isv againindi- It next returns upwardlyl as indicated at 98 and again `enters the opening 88. In the modification indicated in Figs. 3 and 4, one of thecated at 67 with its clasp 7 0v comprising the lower loop 71 with its curved lower end 72, theupper loop 73 with thebar 74.V Thelower end of the member 67 extends through the loop 73 again forming the loop 75 and then extends upwardly forming the member-100, then returns downwardly forming the member 101. At the lower end of thev member;
101 isformed the loop/102, and from the latter extends the upwardly extending member 103, which bears against the member 100. A pair of eyelets 105 clamp together the member 67 and the members 100 and 103.
A stud plate 10S `bears against the member 103 and has 'formed therein an opening 109.v
An eyelet 110 connects the plate 108 and the' member 103. A thimble 112 extends from the plate 10S and through its opening 109. Flanges 113 and 111v are formed at the ends of said thimble. A tapered stud 115 is shown with its small end 116 and its large end 117. The said small end 110 bears against the inember 103. A sleeve 120 with the flange 121 is supported on the thimble 112, the flange 121 bearing against the flange 114. The said iiange 121 also bears against the large end 117 of the stud 115. Itwill be noted that thesafety pin indicated with the bar 21, and the pin proper 22 has `its bar 21 suspended from the depending strap 3.() of the garment 38, and that the pin proper 22 is supported by the members 44 and 45, which in turn are suspended from the depending strap 39 of the said garment. There is there by provided two means tor suspending the main strap 2() from the depending strap 39.
Various modifications may be made in the invention and the present exemplitication is to betaken as illustrative and not limitative thereof.
Having described my invention wh at I desire to secure by Letters Patent and claim is:
1. In a hose supporter the combination of a lower strap, a stud frame supported by the strap, a thimble having flanges at its ends extending from said traine, one of the flangesv of the thimblebearing against a face of the frame, a tapered stud encircling the thimble with its smaller end bearing against the frame, a washer encircling the thimble interposed between the larger end of the stu-dV and the adjacent flange of the thimble and a suspended clasp enacting with said stud.
2. In a hose supporter the combination of a lower strap, a loop formed at the lower end ot' said stra-p, an upwardly extending member formed with said loop, a second strap having anupper folded end, said end located between the said lower strap and its upwardly extending member, eyelets connecting said lower strap, extended member and iclded end, a stud frame having a central body portion and a pair of annular loops, said second strap extending through said annular loops to support said trame, y a thimble having flanges at its ends extending from said frame, one of the flanges of the
