IMPROVEMENT IN PACKAGES FOR ETHVLENE.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. I 68,340, dated October 5, 1875; application filed March 3, 1875.
' of said articles, a sponge; and consists of a capsule of sufficient size for holding a sponge above the cork of the bottle.
To enable others to fully understand my invention, I proceed to describe the same in de tail with the aid of the accompanying drawing, in which the figure represents a bottle having my improvement attached, the neck, cork, capsule, and sponge shown in section.
A is the bottle, B the neck, and O the cork.
In order to accompany this package with a sponge, I employ a capsule, D, of the same diameter as the flange of the neck, and of sufficient capacity for holding a sponge, E, above the cork.
To insert the sponge, I first wet or moisten the sponge, whereby it may be greatly compressed in size, then placing it in the capsule. The capsule is then placed over the cork, and the edge of the capsule is compressed around the neck, under the flange thereof. This makes a very compact and convenient package.
Having described my invention, I claim- In combination with the neck B and cork O of the bottle A, the sponge E and capsule D, as and for the purpose set forth.
