MATCH BOX, ASH TRAY, AND OTHER BOXES AND TRAYS.
Application filed April 27, 1926, Serial No. 104,991, and in Great Britain October 1, 1925.
This invention relates to match-boxes, ashtrays, and other like boxes and trays.
The object of this invention is to provide an improved combined box and tray for matches and other articles.
A combined box and tray made in accordance with this invention comprises a box adapted to be opened and closed in any well known manner and a casing adapted to be folded over said box when in its closed position, and to be opened out to form a tray when desired.
Referring to the drawings filed herewith Fig. 1 is a perspective View of one form of combined box and tray made in accordance with this invention in its closed position;
Fig. 2 is :1 perspective view of the same device in its open position.

The casing has four sides 1 c, with flexible folds or hinges along the edges marked (Z d. The corners of the trav are connected together by flexible material to form webs e e. The sides 0 c of the casing are connected by rubber or elastic strips f f to permit of the casing being moved from the closed to the open position.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A box comprising an outer casing, a
tray or drawer adapted to fit inside the casing, and members hingeably aflixed to the casing, the said members constituting a tray in the open position and adapted to be folded over the sides of the casing when not in use.
2. A. box comprising an outer casing, a tray or drawer adapted to fit inside the casing, and a collapsible tray having four sides hingeably secured to the top of the casing, the said sides being adapted in one position to form a tray and in another position to be folded down over the sides of the casing.
3. A box comprising an outer casing, a tray or drawer adapted to fit inside the easing, and a collapsible tray having four sides hingeably secured to the top of the casing. the sides being connected together at the corners by a flexible material to permit them to be folded down, when not in use as a. tray, over the sides of the casing.
4. A box comprising an outer casing, a tray or drawer adapted to fit inside the easing, and a. collapsible tray having four sides hingeably secured to the top of the casing, the sides being connected together at the corners by a flexible material to permit them to be folded down. when not in use as a tray, over the sides of the casing, and by elastic strips to retain the sides in the open or closed position.
