For this purpose, I provide the spring arms36 which yieldingly receive the commode 30 and are attached to a hollow, cylindrical sleeve or bracket 37 through which passes a guide rod 38, the ends of which ride within the arcuate guide grooves "39. The upper ends of the arms or brackets 410 are similarly perforated and are carried by asupporting rod ell suitably supported in the bearings 42. A spring 43 is provided, one cndvof which is fixedly carried by the partition 21, and the other end of which bears against a projection 44 forming a part of the sleeve or bracket 37.

The advantages of the present invention, as embodied in the illustrative device de scribed above, are numerous and of great practical importance. At the same time the provision of theend closure permits the ready removal and lreplaceinent of the commode with its sealed cover at any time desired, the whole arrangement being an extremely practical one, easy and economical to manufacture, and convenient in use. p i
