This invention relates'tojboiler ,cleaners yand refersinore particularly to boiler' clean-` tion resides in the .novel construction and lo,-
cation off the unit and .in such `further details of construction as will more fully herein after appear.y
Inthe drawings: f Figure l is a fragmentary side elevational y View partly in section showing the arrange-k ment of the blower unit.r n e Figure 2 is a. View looking rat right angles to Figure l. n f
In detail A 'designates a fboiler having headers B connected by a plurality of rows of tubes C. There is yalso a f supplementary header Dwhichis spaced from the header B and is connected thereto by water circulating pipes E.y -The blower unit F is positioned so that its nozzles F extend between the tubes E and the unit is located within a re-j branches.extend'between the Water circulat-` Lio ing pipes E, thus permitting the blower unit and its mounting being located outside of the extreme heat zones of the furnace. 'Therk casing M which forms asupplemental hous-y `ing for the pipe L also carries thebearings N, and the entire mechanism with the eX- ception ofthe inner ends of the pipes K is located in that portion of the boiler between the headers B and D and the door J. Suit able connections to a source of supply of" steam or other cleaning ,substancey (not shown) will of course be employed.
What I claim as my invention is:
1. In a boiler structure, 'the combinationk with a header and a bank of boiler-tubes eX- tending from said header, of a series of water circulation tubes extending from said header `atan angle to said boiler tubes, ka rotatable 'blower' header extending transversely 'and adjacent said'water circulation tubes and a'plurality oit branch discharge pipes projecting from said blower header between said water circulation pipes and adapted to discharge upon said'fboiler tubes.
- :2. The combination with a boiler having a plurality of boiler tube headers, means connecting said headers aflording water circulation therebetween and steam generating tubes extending into the boiler combustion chamber, oit a cleaning fluid supply header, said boiler tube headers and connecting meansseparatii'ig the cleaning fluid supply header from the boiler combustion chamber, so as to position the cleaning fluid supply header substantially free from contact with the boiler combustion chamber gases, said,` ,cleaning Huid supply header having a branch pipe extending therefrom into the.y boiler ycombustion chamber and carrying a` ydischarge nozzle likewise located withiny the boiler combustion chamber for discharging f a iet ot' cleaning fluid toward said steamy generating tubes. y f f ,The combination with a boiler having :i Lplurality ott' spaced boiler tube headers,
water circulating tubes connecting the headers and steam generating tubes extending into .tliefboiler combustion chamber'at an angle with the circulating tubes, of' a cleaning fluid ysnpply'header located outside the boiler combustion chamber so. as to be substantially ytree `from Contact with the hotk combustion chamber gases, said cleaning fluid supply header having a` branch pipe extending therefrom between said water circ ulating tubes and into the boiler combus tion chamber, and a cleaning fluid discharge nozzle carried by the branch pipe and liliewise located within the boiler combustion chamber vorf discharging a'jet offcleaning fluid toward said steam generating tubes.
4. The combination with a boiler having a plurality of spaced boilerI tube` headers, watery circulating tubes connecting the headers and steamv generatingtubes extending into the boiler combustion chamber at an anglewiththe circulating tubes, of a cleaning fluid `supply header located outside the boiler combustion chamber so as to be sub-y fluid suppl)7 header having a .branch pipe extending therefrom between sind Water circulating tubes and into the boiler Cornhus-y tion chamberr` and a cleaning Huid discharge nozzle carried by the branch pipe and likewise located Within the boiler combustion chamber for discharging a jet of cleaning fluid to znd said steam Igenerating tubes,"'
15 latingpipes connecting the same and steam generating tubes extending at an angle with the water circulating pipes into the boiler combustion chamber, ot a plate-like member extending between the Said boiler tube headers with thev Water circulating pipes klying between the said member and the boiler coinbustion chamber, a cleaning fluid supply header, said member forming a bearing for Said header, a branch pipe from said cleaning fluid supply header, and a discharge nozzle carried by Said branch pipe Within the boiler combustion chamber.
In testimonyv yWhereoll I ailix my signature.
FRANK BOVERS.
